K-pop idol G-Dragon will be summoned soon by prosecutors over an allegedly obscene performance by the 21-year-old Big Bang member at his solo concert in December despite a petition filed with the prosecution by 1,000 fans to defend him.
Prosecutors have been investigating the case following a request from the Ministry for Health, Welfare and Family Affairs to ascertain whether G-Dragon (real name Kwon Ji-yong) and his management company YG Entertainment breached laws that ban obscene performances. G-Dragon mimicked sexual acts during his concert at Jamsil Gymnasium, on Dec. 5 and 6.
A civic group collected petitions from about 1,000 spectators along with copies of their concert tickets and submitted them to a Seoul district prosecutor's office.
The petition says that they do not agree with the allegations that his performance was obscene, claiming they did not feel offended.
However, the prosecution indicated that a summons is imminent.
``We put off the summoning him, taking into consideration the fact that they were very busy with the year-end season. But we will soon call him in for questioning,'' a prosecutor said.
The prosecution has secured video clips of the concert and done research as to whether the concert constitutes the breach of the related laws.
``The investigation is focused on what kind of impact the performance could have had on young people,'' the prosecutor said. He said both the singer and producer of the show could be called in.
Yang Hyun-suk, CEO of YG Entertainment, has already made a public apology.
While singing ``Breathe'' off his first album, G-Dragon performed a few suggestive sexual acts with a female dancer on a bed on stage during the concert, with heavy breathing and moaning coming out of the speakers. In the following song ``She's Gone,'' a violent background video clip also raised controversy. In the scene, G-Dragon chases a girl and stabs her.

* this is why we have to think before we act. poor GD so many things happened to him in 2009. Just hope 2010 will be good for him... well maybe in the next few month after this case settle down...
