Korean heartthrobs Lee Min-ho and Kim Beom made a surprise appearance at actor Jeong Il-woo's fan meeting held over the weekend, according to Jeong's agency N.O.A Entertainment on Monday.

Lee and Kim, co-stars of last year's smash hit series "Boys over Flowers" and best friends with Jeong, turned up at the meet and greet also held in time with Jeong's 23rd birthday.

"We have known Jeong for a while now but we have never seen these sides to Jeong before. It is great to see how passionate he can be for his fans", the two said of the various events Jeong prepared for the fan meeting after congratulating him on his birthday.

For the fan event, held for the first time in two years, Jeong played the original soundtrack to movie "Love Affair" on the piano as well as singing and dancing to "Candy in my Ear" with female songstress Baek Ji-young.

"It must've been because I was very nervous about meeting my fans for the first time in a while but I'm a bit disappointed that I wasn't able to do as well as I had done when preparing for the fan meeting", Jeong said afterwards. "I'm rather more moved by my fans because despite that, my fans seemed to enjoy it and were touched by the effort I put into the preparations".

Jeong became a household name after appearing in the popular MBC sitcom "High Kick!" (MBC, 2006) and has since starred in several other dramas including "Iljimae Returns - Moon River" (MBC, 2009) and "My Fair Lady" (KBS2, 2009).

He is currently looking at several scenarios and synopses for his next acting role.

SM Artist Attract 15, 000 Fans To LA Concert

The artists of SM Entertainment made their second stop of their "SMTOWN LIVE '10 WORLD TOUR" in the United States over the weekend, drawing some 15,000 fans to the Staples Center in Los Angles.

A total of 44 singers and actors including some of K-pop's biggest names such as Super Junior, SHINee, and Girl's Generation, performed at the famed venue on Saturday.

The concert started off with The Grace's member J-min's rendition of song "Shine," followed by other solo and group performances by Kangta, BoA, U-know Yunho, Super Junior, Girls' Generation, SHINee, f(x) TRAX, Kim Jong-min and Lee Yeon-hee.

Sisters Jessica of Girls' Generation and Krystal of f(x) sang U.S. artist Ke$ha's hit pop song "Tik Tok" while Kangta and actress Ara also gave a musical duet performance.

"I am extremely grateful that so many people have come to fill this arena. Fans should be prepared to anticipate more than what they have been expecting to see," singer Kangta said.

Han Ga-in's Song Picks

The phrase 'ideal woman' pops into mind before 'actress.' Han Ga-in has always been every man's ideal woman -- from when she appeared on the news by chance in high school as a top student in her class dreaming to major in medicine to when she was the Olivia Hussey-resembling high school girl in plaited pigtails (in film "Spirit of Jeet Kune Do: Once Upon a Time in High School") to when she was crowned 'queen of tears' playing her character who agonizes over her past from the days she was single (in KBS TV series "Terms of Endearment"). Her facial features and bright eyes which stand out even without any fancy make-up, placed her on the list of bywords for beautiful women since the beginning stages of her career.

So even though she chilled the hearts of many males, from high school students to reserve officers to single men, when at the age of 23 she announced her marriage to fellow actor Yeon Jung-hoon in 2005, her appearance is probably not the only reason she remains the ideal woman for many men five years later. She is closer to being the affable girlfriend than a coquettish lady as seen from her portrayal of the assertive and shrewd character she played in MBC drama "Super Rookie." And like she described of her three-year hiatus -- " I spend very ordinary days when not acting, just doing household chores. And it turned out that I was so busy that I didn't feel time pass by," -- Han too turns out not to be a 'goddess' or 'heartthrob,' but rather no different from any other female in her late twenties. What is rather more impressive is her polite manners and slightly more honest personality which she may have been born with or could come from her relatively quick career start.

But nobody says that even this model student who rehearses her Japanese lines to the extent that "they will come out seemingly automatically with the slightest prod" by failing to let go of her recorder day and night when on shoots overseas, cannot have unexpected desires. In SBS show "Bad Boy," the actress "rid herself of the image which is as pretty and clean as a crystal," as said by director Lee Hyung-min, and took on the role of Moon Jae-in who is an ambitious consultant who dreams of making her way into a rich household. Just the fact that she, who was always the symbol of purity in cosmetics or home appliance commercials, transformed into someone who represents worldly desires was interesting. And the fact that she recommended music which one can listen to while thinking of their first love from a long time ago or the love they have broken up with, was also interesting. "I tried using the subtitle 'To you who is probably listening to this song somewhere'...... I'm sure everyone has someone in their memories who fits the phrase."

Rain Military Entrance Date Deferred To Next Year

Korean superstar Rain will be able to pursue his singing and acting career for several more months following the deferral of his military entrance date to next year.

The Military Manpower Administration (MMA) said late on Thursday that it will push back Rain's military entry to an unspecified date next year from the originally set September 28 of this year.

All Korean men serve two years of mandatory military service, mainly during their early to mid twenties, but Rain, 28, had initially held off serving his military duties to study for a master's degree.

He then submitted an application this May requesting for another postponement for reasons relating to his career. Rain is one of the main stars of upcoming TV series "Domangja s1" set to premiere in late September.

Following the MMA's decision, Rain may appear in one more drama or movie before joining the military next year, according to his agency.

An official with upcoming film "Red Scarf," a remake of the Korean movie of the same name from 1964, had said last month that there is a high chance Rain will play the main character in the story which tells of the life and comradeship of various soldiers.

The movie would mark his second local big screen role, after critically acclaimed director Park Chan-wook's "I'm a Cyborg, But That's Okay" while he has also appeared in Hollywood pics "Speed Racer" and "Ninja Assassin."

Rain, whose real name is Jung Ji-hoon, is considered one of the most successful Korean stars in the entertainment business throughout Asia.

Kim Hyun-joong To Endorse THEFACESHOP

Singer and actor Kim Hyun-joong has become the new face of Korean cosmetics brand THEFACESHOP, according to Kim's agency KEYEAST on Thursday.

KEYEAST announced through a press release that the 24-year-old heartthrob will endorse THEFACESHOP both domestically and internationally starting September through television commercials.

"Kim's refreshing yet elegant image fits well with the concept of 'natural elegance' that our brand is pushing for following its growth as a global brand," an official from THEFACESHOP was quoted as saying in their reason for signing with Kim.

THEFACESHOP is currently the No. 1 Korean-made cosmetics brand which has been exported to 18 countries across the world.

Kim, who debuted as a member of K-pop band SS501 in 2005, has been popular throughout Asia as the leader and main vocalist of his five-man group but shot to stardom in the region after starring in last year's smash hit TV series "Boys Over Flowers."

He recently newly signed with Hallyu star Bae Yong-joon's KEYEAST, after his group's contract with their former agency DSP Media expired in early June, and is starring in new MBC drama "Naughty Kiss," the Korean small screen adaptation of Japanese comic series "Itazura na Kiss," which premiered yesterday.

Jay Park, writing neatly in Korean, not English… Colored letters show “Wittiness”

Generally, celebrities hesitate to write something when asked to do it in handwriting. It’s because they’re afraid they’ll get criticized by netizens when their handwriting is made public. But Jay Park was different.  As soon as a piece of paper was given, he grabbed a pen without hesitation and began writing down.  He wrote in the unpolished yet neat Korean “An-nyung-ha-sae-yo!! (Hello!!).”  When I said, “Your Korean is good,” he waived his hand and said, “Nah, it’s not good enough.”  “I began learning Korean only after I had come to Korea. I studied very hard.  I don’t have much problem speaking now, but it’s still hard for me to understand complicated words.  But, now that I’ve learned Korean, I’m trying to speak with my parents in Korean.”
One thing that stood out was that he wrote each letter in a different color.  Jay Park explained, “It won’t be fun if I had all of them in the same color.  I thought it would be fun to use a variety of colors.”  After he filled the paper with large size letters in all sorts of colors, he picked yet another different color and made an underline.  He was surely freewheeling.  I had my doubts that he was done, but it was indeed the end.  He held out the paper while smiling big, “I’m done.” When I said “Don’t you at least have to write your name?”, he smiled with embarrassment.  And he muttered to himself, “Should I sign or should I just write my name?” and then he wrote his name in a corner.
He is simple enough to forget to write his own name. However, the leverage effect of the name “Jay Park” is tremendous.  Would that be because he came back after overcoming all kinds of hardships?  It’s well known that his fans are particularly loyal to him. Probably for that reason, he has been contacted by many advertising sponsors, and he has recently finished shooting a CF for the clothing brand Levis.  In addition, his songs, “Count On Me” and “I Want To Cry” swept first place on various online charts.
He left for the U.S. on August 31st for his fan meet tour.  He has caught the flu after he continued to go through intensive practice for his fanmeets.  Wouldn’t it be too much for him to withstand 11 hour flight in such condition?
He shook his head and said, “I feel happiest when I meet my fans.”  Out of the blue, it flashed across my mind that he suddenly left for U.S. last September in an economy seat.  Now, after overcoming everything, he must have a different feeling while heading to the States because this time it’s in order to enjoy the festival with fans, not to escape.  Jay Park smiled and said, “I’ll fly in business class this time.”

“I monitor haters’ comments. I am aware of vicious rumors, but I am not afraid anymore.” “Life is too short to have sour feelings about JYP.”
At last Jay Park (23) started to talk.
On August 30th, 2010, Jay Park had an exclusive interview with us at the Sports Chosun building in Mokdong, Seoul. Since Jay Park returned to Korea in June, he has not made any official statement regarding the rumor. After a 5-hour photo shoot prior to the interview, he looked totally exhausted but seemed to be determined. He started to talk about what had been on his mind in a calm and orderly way. For the first time since the permanent dismissal from 2PM, he talked about his feelings and the vicious rumors at that time, honestly and straightforwardly.
First he talked about how he felt when JYP Entertainment made a sudden announcement that they had permanently terminated Jay Park’s contract and said, “We cannot disclose the reason because it’s a personal issue. This mistake is even worse than the scandal from last year and can potentially cause far more serious trouble in society.”
Jay said, “It was a little bitter. But it wasn’t like I’d die if I wasn’t a singer so I just wanted to do something else, be it a dancer or part-timer,” and added, ”Because my life wouldn’t end there. I believed there would always be new opportunities in other places.”
Regarding the bad rumors, he explained his position in a very open and clear attitude. “If I start talking about the old stories, it will only make things bad, and I don’t want to hurt everyone all over again. I will let it go and live as it goes,” he asserted.
Subsequently, he said, “I am aware of the haters and bad rumors. I’d be lying if I say I don’t care, but I try my best not to.” He added, “Honestly, I don’t understand why they spend time hating me when they can do better things with their families or participate in good deeds during that time. If they enjoy speaking bad things about me, so be it. I just try to be optimistic.”
He also talked about his new habit. He monitors the haters’ comments carefully. “I used to not, but I do it more often now. I don’t get discouraged because of the comments. After all, they don’t really know me.” That showed he has become much stronger and more confident.
When he was asked if he had any feelings against JYPE, he contemplated a little and answered in a mature manner. “We didn’t intend to hurt each other, and we don’t have time to do so. Life is too short to blame others. It’s now the past. I hope that everybody will do well in the long run.”
While he answered openly with no reservation to the previous questions, he hesitated a little when asked, “What was the personal mistake that JYPE mentioned?” He said, “I would like to answer, but I won’t.”
At the end, Jay Park said, “I could endure hard times thanks to my fans that stood by me. I decided that I wouldn’t disappoint them.” After the long interview, he added, “Please show just how thankful I am to my fans in the interview article,” showing his sincere love for his fans.
After the successful fan meetings at Korea University Hwajung Stadium on August 28th and 29th, Jay Park leaves Korea on the 31st to embark on his Asian fanmeet tour.

* Finally he talks... Haters now can rest assured hahaha... aren't they tired talking bad about other people that they don't even know... I like it how Jay described his feeling towards the fans... (^^)
