Jang Geun Suk Stirs Up Trouble at Public Camping Site

Recently, Jang Geun Suk’s misbehavior at a public camping site was reported. On August 16, Jang Geun Suk and his group of friends went on a camping trip to Gyeonggi Province. However, the way they behaved on this trip brought on a lot of public criticism. According to other campers that were present that day, the group created a lot of ruckus with loud music and partying that lasted throughout the night.

A camper that was near the group, Mr. Kim, revealed in an interview, “Jang Geun Suk and his group of friends received a lot of complaints from other campers that were in their vicinity due to their late night partying. Turning off the lights at 11 p.m. is basic etiquette among campers, but they didn’t seem to respect that etiquette. Rather, they had the headlights of their cars on and music blaring, which disturbed the peaceful quiet of the camping site.”

According to Mr. Kim, Jang Geun Suk and his group of friends, who all seemed to be around their 20s, took a spot deeper into the woods. Regardless, because he is such a star, many in the vicinity recognized him. The public opinion is that since he had realized that many of the other campers had noticed who he was, he should have taken even more care in his behavior.

After arriving, the group soon behaved like the site was their own personal camping ground. Their barbecue party lasted into the night past 1 a.m., everyone enjoying their drinks and music. As their drinking party continued, their voices got louder and louder to the point where a fellow camper woke up and complained, asking them to “please stop and go to bed.” Eventually the party was broken up but at this point too many of the other camping families had woken to the ruckus.

The loudness of the party wasn’t the only factor that caused the other campers to complain. One of Jang Geun Suk’s friends had decided to turn on the headlights of one of Jang Geun Suk’s cars, and these headlights had been directed at other campers’ tents. One by one each of the camping families said something to the group, asking them to stop, but despite their numerous efforts, the group’s party didn’t seem to end. An additional complaint by the families was that some of the male members of the group had taken their shirts off and were wandering around the camp site, making some of the families uncomfortable, since many of them had children present with them as well.

According to Mr. Kim, “At the time most of the campers at the site knew that Jang Geun Suk was camping there as well. One of the ladies had gone to ask Jang Geun Suk for a photo but she came back empty-handed because he had refused, saying that it was his private life. I’m wondering why Jang Geun Suk wasn’t careful with his behavior when he was obviously aware that many of the campers had recognized him. I, too, had gone camping with my family to have a time of rehabilitation and bonding. However, this opportunity had gone to waste because of Jang Geun Suk and his friends. I was fond of him as a Hallyu star but through his incident I’ve become disappointed.”

Jang Geun Suk’s management agency released a statement on this matter, saying, “Jang Geun Suk had gone camping with his friends as a summer vacation trip. He hadn’t seen them in a long time so he had unintentionally caused some trouble at the site out of excitement for a long-awaited break. He had apologized on site after receiving the complaints but we apologize for not taking care as a well-known public figure.”

Some pictures of the camping site were released, which you can view here.

Meanwhile, Jang Geun Suk had recently returned to Korea after completing a performance at the “A-Nation” music festival on August 15.

* I can only say... he need  to fix this. I don't see how popularity give people right to do whatever they want. Sorry Jang Geun Suk, I'm not on your side for this.

‘Love Rain’ holds its first script-reading with SNSD’s YoonA and Jang Geun Suk

PD Yoon Suk Ho, who’s famous for his melodramas like ‘Autumn Tale‘ and ‘Winter Sonata‘, is reuniting with writer Oh Soo Yun for the new drama, ‘Love Rain‘. The drama boasts a formidable cast comprised of Jang Geun Suk, SNSD‘s YoonA, Son Eun Seo, Hwang Bora, and Seo In Guk.

‘Love Rain’ recently held its first script-reading session with the cast, PD, and writer. PD Yoon Suk Ho led the meeting with careful and detailed suggestions on the acting. Jang Geuk Suk and Yoon prepared for their parts thoroughly, and the atmosphere in the meeting seemed no different from the actual filming environment.

The story portrays both the pure emotional love story from the ’70s, as well as the more modern type of love. PD Yoon Suk Ho reflected, “Many of the actors and actresses in this drama may not have experienced the style of romance felt in the ’70s.” He mused, “Looking back on my memories, it was an enjoyable time; that nostalgia is reflected in this production.”

Jang Geun Suk will play a double role as a father and son, ‘Seo In Ha‘ and ‘Seo Jun‘. Commenting on his roles, he stated, “When I first saw the script, I cried a lot. I feel an ambition to express the two characters’ emotions, in addition to the emotions I feel and the sincere message I want to say through ‘Love Rain’.”

Jokingly, he continued, “I usually covers roles that portray energetic personalities, but trying to do something more calm and steady ,it feels uneasy.“.

YoonA will play two roles as well; she’s accepted the part of ‘Kim Yoon Hee‘, a shy beauty from the ’70s arc of the show, as well as ‘Yuri‘, a cheerful girl from the present time. YoonA explained “The burden is big, as I have to act as two characters who have contradictory personalities. But by being together with the PD, writer, and the other actors and actresses, I have a strong heart. One by one, I’ll do everything possible.”

After the script-reading ended, the actors and actresses ate dinner together and became even closer. Filming is scheduled to begin in September and the drama will air in early 2012.

* I'm not Yoona's fan, but 'Love Rain' sound great. I wonder how this drama going to be on screen. Knowing that the PD is one of the best, this drama will be on my 'Must Watch' list.

Male celebs... "I was pretty one time..."

Only women can be pretty? Men would be disappointed to hear that. Kim Hee-cheol, Jang Geun-seok, Lee Joon-ki and more have been called "prettier men than women" for dressing up as women on TV or in movies. The pictures are of men that make women jealous.

★ Unchanging appearance

They say "Sandalwood is fragrant even in seed leaf". Jang Geun-seok is the one and only male celebrity who is from the "Pretty Child Contest". His smile from then is hard to distinguish if he is a boy or a girl. There is a reason for stealing 'nunas' (elder sister) hearts. The term 'pretty' is well suited for him.

Even the picture of Jo In-Seong who is being discharged from the army this May is fragrant. His thin smile and cute appearance might have made a few girls cry in the past. Group TVXQ's Max had a thick double eyelid from his younger days. The cuteness of his hands held together is a bonus. The azalea behind him is not even obvious.

★ The good old days

There are stars who miss the past years. Simon D from Hip Hop duo group Supreme Team added "The 1st prime time" under a picture he uploaded on his Twitter. In the picture is Simon D with straight cut bangs and bright round eyes. Neighboring ajumma's (old ladies) might've been confused thinking of what to say like "You son has bright eyes" or "Your daughter is so pretty". Noh Yoo-min who stated that U-Kiss's Dong Ho looks like him when he was younger, has big eyes and fair skin in his picture. His mischievous expression shows how cute he was when he was young.

Just a minute. Who is the kid who beat national actors Jo In-Seong, Won Bin and Kang Dong-won, becoming the prettiest child? It's Yoo Jae-seok. In a survey conducted by "TV News At Night" to primary schoolers, Yoo Jae-seok became first only in appearance. His dark eyes and small lips are cute. There is no 'grasshopper' in the picture of little Yoo Jae-seok.

Jang Geun Suk To Receive 2 Awards at 2010 Asia Buzz Award

Korea's popular idol star Jang Keun-suk is likely to receive two awards for the upcoming Yahoo! Buzz Awards 2010, according to Jang's promoter Tree J. Company on Thursday.

Tree J. announced in press release that Jang is currently first in two of three categories - top male star and top Asian star - in a popularity poll including Internet users in South Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Indonesia between November 8 to December 1.

The Yahoo! Buzz Awards, into its seventh year, selects and offers awards to celebrities based on the "buzz", or number of searches, a star has received on Internet portal site Yahoo!

The count so far indicates that in the category for top male star, Jang has garnered over a total 5.6 million votes which is twice the amount lodged by the first runner-up and nearly 10 million votes in the survey for top Asian star.

He has been competing against Korean heartthrobs such as Super Junior, Kim Hyun-joong, Rain, 2PM and Lee Seung-gi.

After announcing the results on December 9, the winners of this year's Yahoo! Buzz Awards will be invited to the official awards ceremony set to take place in Hong Kong on December 17.

Based on the popularity of his hit dramas such as "Hwang Jinny (2006)," "Beethoven Virus (2008)" and "Minamishineyo (2009)," Jang took off on a six-month long tour to meet with his fans in Taiwan , Beijing, Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka and Hong Kong during the early half of his year.

* If you're Jang Geun Suk fan than you'll be happy with the news... but if you're one of Kim Hyun Joong fans who vote like crazy and put him on the 1st place trying to maintain him on his place you'll say the news is suck... as for me... hahaha I don't vote for both of them so I don't feel anything.

Jang Geun Suk or Kim Hyun Joong?

why do I have to choose between the 2? I love both of them, I enjoyed watching their drama, and I am instantly be their fan because I think they're good. But the fact that I have to choose between who I love the most give me headache...

I hope fans will think straight now... no matter who wins just be happy for them... oh yes you've vote like crazy but still other people votes like crazy too... rather than fighting over something you can't change... just be happy... think it like this "I vote for him, I really vote like crazy... even if he didn't win I'm happy at least I am one of his fan who sincerely want him to win."

Jang Geun-Suk To Begin Japan Tour This Month

Hallyu star Jang Geun-suk will embark on his sold-out fan tour in Japan this month, according to his agency Tree J. Company on Wednesday.

A press release from Tree J. announced that Jang will visit four cities in Japan for a total five shows in the country, beginning with fan meeting in Fukuoka on Friday.

An official from Tree J. explained that they have received numerous inquiries after the announcement of Jang's fan meeting in November and tickets were sold out as soon as they went on sale.

He also said they have added an additional date to the tour after the show in Yokohama for fans who were not able to purchase tickets for his other shows.

"I am really happy and excited about my upcoming tour since I will be able to update my fans as well as talk about my new drama 'Marry Me, Mary," Jang was quoted as saying.

He will meet and greet fans, talk about his new drama "Marry Me, Mary" and for the first time ever, sing a song from the show's soundtrack.

Jang, 23, began his career in show business at the early age of five as a catalog model. He is well-known for his roles in MBC's sitcom "Nonstop 4" and "Beethoven Virus."

He rose to stardom in Korea and throughout Asia last year as the eccentric lead singer of the idol group ANJELL in the hit SBS TV series "Minamishineyo" alongside actress Park Shin-hye.

Jang Geun-suk Says "Minamishineyo," "Mary" Completely Different

In upcoming TV series "Marry me, Mary," Jang Geun-suk may be reprising his role from his last drama "Minamishineyo" where he played the vocalist of a rock band but the actor says the two shows and his characters are anything but similar.

Jang made the remark at a press conference for his new drama held in Seoul on Wednesday, saying that the two shows are completely different; the former based on marriage for people in their 20s and the latter a music drama which shows the process of how an idol band grows.

In "Mary," main female character Mary played by Moon Geun-young, makes realizations about love and herself while being in two fake marriages for 100 days to completely different men -- Mugyul played by Jang and Jungin by model-actor Kim Jae-wook.

"Minamishineyo" was about a girl who pretends to be a man to join popular idol group A.N.JELL which is headed by Jang's character Tae-kyung.

Jang stressed that the two have no similarities either and are “rather likely to be from different worlds, from opposite sides of the globe."

"Tae-kyung is unlikely to exist in real life, being cartoon-like from his form of speech to his actions and he doesn't open himself up to anyone," Jang explained of the character who was a perfectionist and so much of a nut about cleanliness that he would not let anyone close to him physically, let alone his heart.

"But Mugyul is like a street cat. He'll sleep anywhere, even outside if he gets drunk, and he's free-spirited," the actor said of his "Mary" character who he described as the type to 'go for anything.' "He'll also easily date around but a month per girl would be his maximum. He won't actually fall in love with anyone because he has been hurt."

Jang then confessed he fell for the drama as soon as he laid eyes on the script in April and had to plead producers not to hand the script to anyone else.

The 20-part show is based on a comic of the same name by Won Soo-yeon, the original cartoonist for 2004 smash-hit drama "Full House" which starred Asian superstar Rain and actress Song Hye-kyo.

The actor was also all praises for his co-star Moon Geun-young, whom he said he was honored to work with and “clicked” with as soon as he saw her. The two are both 23 and have led similar career paths, debuting as child actors more than ten years ago.

"I yelled 'hooray' the moment I found out Moon was cast for the show. I was sure we'd be able to learn a lot from each other and make something that is more of our own, something I usually didn’t get to do since I’m usually the youngest one on set, and I also felt that she'd be someone I could really talk to," Jang remarked excitedly.

He then said, "The funny thing is, I had thought up so many things to say to her for the first time we met but we actually felt awkward until we started drinking and finally both blurted to each other 'I really wanted to work with you.'"

Moon agreed. “Of course I was mesmerized with the role I’d be playing but the fact that I knew Jang was cast in the show played a big part in my decision.”

"Mary," targeted at viewers not just in Korea but around Asia, has been pre-sold to China and Taiwan at record high prices ahead of going on air November 8.

Jang however, did not see any particular significance in the drama as a Hallyu, or Korean Wave content. "It would be great for the show to become known throughout Asia but what's more crucial is that it shows our culture the way it is in an honest yet fun way."

Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong's Wedding Photo Shoots

Wedding photographs from upcoming KBS TV series "Marry Me, Mary," starring Korean stars Moon Geun-young and Jang Keun-suk, have been revealed.

The show's promoter Ytree media on Friday released several pictures of the main character Mary (Moon) donning a short white wedding gown with a pink sash and Moo-kyul (Jang) wearing a black tuxedo.

Earlier this week, Ytree unveiled a picture of Mary in her wedding attire placed between Moo-kyul and Jung-in (played by Kim Jae-wook).

"I thought Mary (Moon) looked very pretty today (laugh) and I thought I looked pretty good as well. I had so much fun on set and I hope the audience will enjoy watching the show," Jang was quoted as saying.

Based on the online comic by famed writer Won Soo-yeon, "Marry Me" is about Mary who makes realizations about love and herself while being in two fake marriages for 100 days to completely different men - Moo-kyul and Jung-in.

"Marry Me, Mary" will premiere on November 8 after current drama "SungKyunKwan Scandal," starring Park Yuchun finishes its run.

Jang Geun-seok & Moon Geun-yeong Looked Like a Real Couple

Demo video of upcoming drama from KBS 2TV, 'Mary Stayed Out All Night' was released; many people pointed out that Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong looked like a real couple.

Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong showed a real couple-like image via a video clip of drama 'Mary Stayed Out All Night'. In the video, they were wandering around Hongdae while holding their hands just like a real couple.

Because of the fact that they acted their parts so beautifully, that scene almost felt unreal.

Especially, people pointed out that the scene, where Jang Geun-seok plays his guitar and Moon Geun-yeong is taking his picture, was really natural. Most people left positive comments for this demo video.

Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong also confessed that they decided to be friends when there was a meeting with all production members of 'Mary Stayed Out All Night'. They became friends real quick since they were both born in 1987, started from child acting, and loved the script of 'Mary Stayed Out All Night'.

One staff from this drama said, “I felt real deep friendship between them from their talking and mood. By showing a lovely image that which is lovelier than a real couple, even viewers who watch this drama will feel happiness.

Only by the fact that this drama is the combination of Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong, it became a top ranker in many portal sites.

'Mary Stayed Out All Night', which will follow 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal', is a romantic comedy about marriage simulation of one girl and two boys. It will be on air on November 8th.

Upcoming Korean series "Mary Is Out of Night" starring Jang Keun-suk has been presold to China for a record high price for a drama, according to the show's promoter Ytree Media.

On Wednesday, Ytree announced that Golden Luck 社, one of China's largest distribution companies, have signed a contract for distribution rights of the new drama which is set to air on Korea's public network KBS starting next month.

Golden Luck 社 has bought rights to Korean dramas before including KBS' "My Precious You" and "My Fair Lady."

Jang Geun-seok To Play Indie Rocker in New Drama

Korean actor and singer Jang Geun-seok has signed on for a role in an upcoming KBS drama, according to his agency Tree J. Company on Friday.

Tree J. announced in a press release that he will be playing the role of an Indie rocker in the series, based on the web-based cartoon by writer Won Soo-yeon, tentatively titled "Mary Stayed Out All Night".

Won Soo-yeon is the writer of the comic series "Full House" whose small screen adaptation in 2004 starred top Korean star Rain and actress Song Hye-kyo.

"Mary Stayed Out All Night" is about a girl named Jung-in who has never been in a romantic relationship and instead has two fake marriages with two separate guys, a perfectionist and a leader singer of a band, with completely different personalities.

"I feel more pressured choosing a project that involves singing. It makes me wonder if I have a set image as an actor who only plays musicians in dramas", Jang was quoted as saying, adding that he enjoyed reading the synopsis for "Mary Stayed Out All Night".

"I feel like I am making a return and as an actor I get the most joy in starring in a new drama", Jang continued to explain. "I am putting everything into 'Mary' and hope to show the audience something new".

"Mary Stayed Out All Night" will premiere in the country in November.

Jang, 23, rose to fame with his roles in MBC's sitcom "Nonstop 4" (2003) and "Beethoven Virus" (2008). He became a household throughout Asia last year through his role of the eccentric lead singer in the hit SBS' series "You're Beautiful".

He recently wrapped up his Asia tour in Korea last weekend, which kicked off six months ago, where he met with numerous fans in Taiwan, Beijing, Singapore, Tokyo, Osaka and Hong Kong.
