KBS2 Drama list Jan To May 2015

It's been a long time. I didn't know I'll be MIA for a long time... I thought I'll just stop coming back but here I am again. Trying to fill in something... So, where should I start? back to January? or just start where ever I stop? Hmmm let see....For now I'll just list down the must watch drama in starting from January until May from KBS2

Healer (힐러)

Must watch!
Love this drama... it's like watching someone stealing your heart without you even know it.

It's an action romance. So, if you're expecting the Healer going to help the world like Superman or Captain America  than forget it.

Oh I don't believe people who claimed  they only watched this drama because it's good.
It's either Ji Chang Wook/ Park Min Young, you name it.

Blood (블러드)

To be truthful, this is not really my favorite one.
And that doesn't mean it was bad, just not on my fav. list that's all.

It failed to get my attention to the fullest. But If you're into vampire mysterious love story this might be for you to watch.

Oh, I don't even really watch Twilight... now I know why this one didn't get my attention hahaha

The King's Face (왕의 얼굴)

I really love Saeguk drama, I just can't help but keep checking on a good one.
Since this one is based on a well known Korean historical event, I believe this must be awesome. But seriously.... it's just too complicated. Hahaha

Historical note:
"Prince Gwanghae is considered a progressive and real politic king of the time that get removed from the thorn by a coup of the old guard nobility."

Unkind Women (착하지 않은 여자들)

I guess the reason why I love this drama is because of the way it describe women in every generation way of thinking. Since I'm an independence woman. I found some of the character in this drama has great similarity to me.

Finally, something that close to reality is on air.

 Spy (스파이)

The reason this one goes in my fav list is quoted below. Not that perfect but nice!
"If there ever was a shining redeeming quality to this show, it would be by far the men in this family. I could fill pages about Dad and his steadfast devotion to his wife and children, along with his willingness to protect his family. His helplessness in the time when he knew that there was nothing he could do broke my heart, but how could you not love a jolly, honorable family man? And wouldn’t you know that Sun-woo takes after his father in his own relationship with Yoon-jin (even if I was never sold on the romance). Coming across a hero who actually comes from a loving home with solid parent-child relationships is hard to come by, which makes me appreciate Sun-woo all the more." - Gumimohi's Review @dramabeans

Producers (프로듀사)

Too early to mention it as my fav. one. But I'll keep on eye on this. Fighting!

Orange Marmalade (오렌지 마말레이드)

Yeah! my eyes refreshment is back! The first 2 episode was great. I'm still looking forward on the next episode... seriously, I guess I'm just being bias here. I'm not interested on vampire dramas but this one hahaha

Everything looks like webtoon in this drama... or is it just me? I know it was from a famous webtoon but since I haven't read or come across to the webtoon so I don't know. For now I'll just stick to watch.

(I'm definitely going to put some review on Orange Marlade. Wait & see... )

miss A’s Suzy and Kim Soo Hyun to Reunite on Screen with Suzy’s Cameo on “Man From the Stars”

According to several broadcast officials, miss A’s Suzy participated in the filming for SBS’s “Man From the Stars” that took place on February 10. She will be appearing in the upcoming episode on February 13 as someone close with Do Min Joon (Kim Soo Hyun), bringing out Chun Song Yi’s (Jun Ji Hyun) jealousy.

As Suzy and Kim Soo Hyun have done a drama (KBS’s “Dream High,” 2011) together once before where they were involved in a romance, their reunion on screen will be exciting, both reminiscent of Dream High as well as carrying the fresh appeal of “Man From the Stars.”

Actor Kim Soo-hyun Set to Tour Asia

Hallyu heartthrob Kim Soo-hyun will meet his Asian fans from March to June, according to Key East, his agency.

His fan meetings will start in Seoul in mid-March and then go to seven cities in Asian countries.
He has been rising as one of the nation’s most sought-after actors as his works both in films such as “Thieves” and “Secretly Greatly” and the drama series, “The Moon That Embraces the Sun” have been huge hits.

His popularity is now culminating with “My Love From the Star” now airing on SBS, which is ruling the small screen with the highest viewer rating in its time slot.

My Love From Another Star (별에서 온 그대)

Title: 별에서 온 그대 / Byeoleseo On Geudae
Also known as: You Came From the Stars / My Lover From The Stars / You From Another Star / My Love From Another Star
Previously known as: 별에서 온 남자 / Byeolyeseo On Namja (Man From the Stars)
Genre: Romance, comedy, fantasy, melodrama, Sci-Fi
Episodes: 20

Broadcast period: 2013-Dec-18 to 2014-Feb-20
Air time: Wednesday & Thursday 22:00

Main characters

Jun Ji-hyun - Cheon Song-yi

– A well known hallyu star, not just because of her acting, her look, her talent… but also her brainless statement on sns, which makes her the most lovable and yet hated all the time. She hates her mother, her brother is a mess, and miss her father a lot... Seriously, I love her character… why not? She’s pretty, sweet, naïve, over confident and stupid at the same time… much more human to me. Kekeke~

Kim Soo-hyun - Do Min-joon
- An alien who have everything, he have the look, he is rich, perfect career, a penthouse... but lack of social interact. Well it's not that weird that an alien have everything human want, infact I always believe some man are an alien hahaha.
I just hope the writer won't mess his character.

Park Hae-jin - Lee Hwi-kyung

Yoo In-na - Yoo Se-mi-
Shin Sung-Rok - Lee Jae-Kyung
Kim Chang-Wan - Jang Young-Mok

I’m not going to utter so much about the other character, just enough to know that Yoo Se-mi who supposed to be CSY friend is not really a friend. Lee Hwi kyung who continuously in love with CSY hated DMJ for being a man… Lee Jae kyung  is a psycho who killed anyone that’s on his way, and my fav. character Jang Young Mok the one and only loyal friend DMJ have since 1970’s… later known as DMJ father… hahaha

Trailer:

I'll put up my review later, well maybe some fav. quotes from this drama too.

Kim Soo Hyun, Jung Il Woo, and Others Film “The Moon that Embraces the Sun”

MBC’s latest drama “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” has exceeded expectations, surpassing 20% viewership ratings by the third episode – even without the main leads. Last night, MBC’s “Section TV Entertainment” went behind the scenes of the popular series to catch a glimpse of its lead actors Kim Soo Hyun, Jung Il Woo, Nam Bo Ra, and Song Jae Hee.

For the first four episodes, the child actors have rocked the screen, receiving non-stop praises for their strong performances. Their strong acting, as well as the intriguing plot, has raised viewers’ expectations in what’s to come.

“Section TV Entertainment” caught up with Kim Soo Hyun, who plays King Lee Hwon; Jung Il Woo, who plays Prince Yang Myung; Nam Bo Ra, who plays Princess Min Hwa; and Song Jae Hee, who plays Heo Yeum. Director Kim Do Hoon revealed, “The adult actors started filming yesterday,” to which the four stars added, “Please continue to enjoy the show following the transition.”

“The Moon that Embraces the Sun” is a fantasy historical drama (sageuk) set in the Joseon Dynasty. King Lee Hwon (Kim Soo Hyun) and his half-brother Prince Yang Myung (Jung Il Woo) fall for the same girl, a shaman named Wol (Han Ga In). Wol, whose real name is Yeon Woo, was the Crowned Princess, betrothed to the Crowned Prince Lee Hwon. She was plotted against and “executed” by those who were both jealous and fearful of her beauty and wits as a young girl.

Lead actors Kim Soo Hyun, Han Ga In, Jung Il Woo, Nam Bo Ra, and Song Jae Hee will finally make their grand appearance on January 25. “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” drew in 23.4% ratings (AGB Nielsen) for its fourth episode last Thursday night.

First Sageuk for Kim Soo Hyun & Han Ga In , The Moon That Embraces the Sun to Premiere on January 4

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Still considering which drama to watch this year? if you're one of Saeguk fan like me. Maybe we should consider to watch this drama. :)

One King, one girl, and the King's stepbrother. Says it all right?

On January 2, the cast of MBC's upcoming historical drama, "The Moon That Embraces the Sun," gathered for a press conference.

Anticipation has been growing after it was confirmed that the famed novelist Jung Eun Gwol's "The Moon That Embraces the Sun," would be used for this drama. She also wrote "The Lives of Sungkyunkwan' Scholars," the story that gave birth to the popular drama "Sungkyunkwan Scandal."

Apart from a solid and entertaining plot, famous faces of the entertainment industry have joined the project.

Top actresses Han Ga In and Kim Min Seo, as well as "Dream High's" Kim Soo Hyun and more recently"Flower Boy Ramyun Shop's" Jung Il Woo were cast as leads for MBC's latest drama. Actor Jung Il Woo replaces actor Joo Won as Prince Yang Myung, who was too busy filming for "Ojakgyo Brothers," which was extended for eight more episodes.

"The Moon That Embraces the Sun" is a fantasy historical drama (sageuk) which takes place during the Joseon Dynasty.

Actor Kim Soo Hyun plays King Lee Hwon who is in love with Han Ga In's character, Heo Yeon Woo. She is born of noble blood and as a child who happens to be sentenced to execution. She lost memory of her royal upbringing and now lives under the name of Wol, a female shaman. Jung Il Woo is Prince Yang Myung, the older stepbrother of the King who is also in love with Wol.

"The Moon that Embraces the Sun" will premiere on MBC on January 4 and will be broadcast twice a week, replacing "Me Too, Flower."

김수현 Kim Soo Hyeon

Name: 김수현 / Kim Soo Hyun
Profession: Actor
Birth date: 1988-Feb-16
Height: 180cm
Weight: 65kg

Kim Soo-hyun: Strangely, I keep looking at you

While the night rain falls, children grow up before you know it. Kim Soo-hyunacted as the young Cha Kang-jin in SBS’s Will It Snow For Christmas, giving off an unfamiliar new vibe that made his Soo-hyun in MBC’s Kimchi Cheese Smile and Jae-ta of KBS’s Jungle Fish seem like faint memories.

With heavy eyelids and black eyes, rounded nose, and distinctly furrowed upper lip, the young man’s face was the same. But he showed a heat with his stare, posture, and stride that could not be that of a child. And when we met him again, slightly brighter in SBS’s Father’s House, the realization hit. A tender sprig had formed into a bud for the first time. Just growing in height cannot evoke that critical feeling that makes it impossible to take one’s eyes off him.

Even watching him off-camera, he gives off tension. He starts speaking with difficulty: “Actually, my mother… is what’s often said to be… that… she was a strong mother.” A very warm story unfolds as he tells how she guided him to take acting lessons with a theater company as a high schooler as a way of fixing a passive personality. He makes a pretty keen observation as he explains that he thinks his young appearance and deep voice are somewhat incongruous but that that image makes him appealing, and he tosses out a meaningful sentence: “Actually, um, my exterior and interior are different.” After listening to a question, he asks curiously without hesitation, “But what exactly does homme fatale mean?” and settles that with “Um, then that word is extremely fitting to Rain!”

His power to make others turn their attention to his words is Kim Soo-hyun’s hidden card, which he has cultivated unwittingly. “When I act, I try to bring my ambitions and worries to the character in an appealing way. He’s remarkable. He’s pretty memorable. Those are the kinds of things I’d like to hear. That’s why I immerse myself in my role, to have that push and pull with viewers through my stare or my voice.”

His candor in laying out serious words that could become lethal foretelling is naive. And when he explains, “The characters I play are also part Kim Soo-hyun — my starting place is from myself, so that a viewer would find him like Kim Soo-hyun,” we are given a clue into this character called Kim Soo-hyun, who is gradually coming into fruition both inside and outside of his work. At the intersection of Kang-jin and Soo-hyun, Jae-il and Jae-ta, there he is with his commanding expression and way of speech.

“In the future, I want work constantly for a while, without a break”

Perhaps he knows his growth has been greatly accelerated, as he reveals his hope, “In the future, I want to work constantly for a while, without a break.” With that said, he adds, “I’m sensitive to the word ‘youth.’ I’m in my youth right now. But, a girlfriend…” But before even ending that sentence, there is no mistaking his cheerful twenty-three-year-old playfulness as he pretends to wipe tears from his eyes. However, there’s a seriousness to his tone when he says, “Whatever the role, I want to try them all, but if I have the opportunity I’d like to do more roles like Kang-jin, masculine roles.” It’s also there when he says, “They say that children can act better because they do it without fear. But once you start becoming aware of your age, you start feeling more fear, and you can’t come charging in. I think I’m at that point,” pointing out the obstacle he will have to overcome.

That’s why even though Kim Soo-hyun is as unpredictable as ever, one can roughly estimate how much he will bloom. He says, “I’m a go-getter. Later on…” and pauses while grinning. “Hahaha. I almost said my dream is world domination!” He laughs it off, but they say one grows as much as one dreams.

My Nam Is...

My name is Kim Soo-hyun. “Soo” means outstanding (秀), “Hyun” means benevolent (賢). There are some people who wonder why I don’t use a different name, since it’s the same as the famous scriptwriter… What would be better? Kim Soo-kyum? Kim… Kali? Hahahaha.

I was born on February 16, 1988. I’m an acting major at Joongang University.

I’m an only son, and at home I’m pretty untalkative. Still, when I’m surprised, I shout unthinkingly, “Mom!”

When I was in high school, I worked a part-time job for a fast-food restaurant. The timing didn't match between the end of school and starting work and I was always late, so I was fired after three days. Still, I was paid for three days, and it was thrilling. There’s a saying that a child should buy his parents socks with a first paycheck, so I bought my mother socks… but she didn't wear them. I should have bought her something with lace.

I learned how to rock climb once. I was in high school, and I even went out to a competitive meet, climbing natural rock. But I was eliminated in the second round when I fell… I learned skin scuba diving too. I tried experiencing sports that would be difficult to do in everyday life.

When I was on MBC’s Kimchi Cheese Smile, I wasn’t worried about taking off my shirt when I heard about the swimming parts. But when we started filming, the other hyungs — phew — had ripped abs and built bodies, and I was shocked. In particular, (Jang) Ji-woo hyung was so built he was called a mannequin. I hear that when he served in the military, he got a special grade for his physical exam.

In SBS’s Will It Snow For Christmas, the scene I’m most fond of is the one at the school faucets where I tell Yoon-ju, “I’m not interested in you, but strangely I keep looking at you.” When I shot that scene, the director and lighting director teased me, saying, “Wow, it’s [legendary actor] Shin Sung-il!” but it made me feel good. My mother’s favorite scene is the one where Kang-jin is painfully rejected by Ji-wan when she’s wearing mourning clothes.

When I shot the scene where Kang-jin walks barefoot, the director deliberately scattered stones in the road. He wanted me to step on them, to feel that pain. His intention was to capture the moment those feelings appeared on my face naturally, but my manager hyung was fidgeting because I might get hurt.

A scene I’m a little disappointed in is in Episode 2, when Kang-jin touches his foot and looks at the moon. The camera shot me in a full shot from behind, but I was slumped over, like it was a bad habit. When I saw that at home, I was a little saddened and thought, Arg, why did I do that!

Before filming SBS’s Father’s House, I was pretty nervous. I’d be acting with Choi Min-soo sunbae-nim, Baek Il-sub, and Park Won-sook, and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to breathe. But they all took good care of me, and in particular Baek Il-sub helped a lot by explaining Jae-il’s situation to me rather than just indicating how the acting should go. I really learned a lot.

Choi Min-soo sunbae-nim knew I’d stiffened up and really took efforts to help me relax. [Lowering his voice] “Wanna learn kumdo?” he’d ask and start conversation. On the set, while I’d be talking with the director, he’d play around and poke me from behind, then pretend it wasn’t him. But when he acts, he gets into it completely. At the script reading, he said, “I don’t want to appear like an actor who is acting, but I’ll approach this drama to give off the feelng that you’re watching Human Theater. I’ll become that person.”

Time flies when I’m at home, lost in thought. I’m not great at it, but I write when I’m alone. I watch movies. I especially like Jo Seung-woo, Ha Jung-woo, and Ryu Seung-beom sunbae-nims, and they have a lot of the elements that I like in actors.

I don’t think I have distinct preferences. I like hip-hop music, trance, ballads — I don’t differentiate between genres. When I sing, I’ll do a ballad, and then a hardcore song. Haha.

My emotions tend to fluctuate, but whether I’m feeling happy or sad, rather than hiding everything I feel insisde, I like to work them off and get rid of them entirely. That’s why when I feel good, I might give all my money to a beggar, and when I’m depressed I feel lost in my emotions and think I want to die. I like crying, so when I see the line “tears flow” in a script it makes me happy, because I can exhaust those emotions and cast them off.

I like taking photographs. At the time of Kimchi Cheese Smile, Lee Byung-jinsunbae-nim’s camera was so cool, and I learned a lot watching him. Right now I use a Nikon D800, which I got really cheap secondhand, thanks to Lee Byung-jin sunbae.

I really love taking photos when it snows a lot like it has recently. It’s easy to attach sentiment to a simple footprint, saying, “Looks great!” Hahaha.

But, doesn’t it always snow on Christmas? I think a white Christmas is a given. What did I do last Christmas? Um… so… well… I went to a noraebang with friends. Heh.
