MC Mong tops music charts with sixth album

The embattled South Korean hip-hop artist MC Mong, who was once mired in controversy over draft evasion, topped major local music charts with his latest track for the second straight day.

As of Tuesday morning, the title track “Did you miss me?,” off his sixth full-length album “Miss Me or Diss Me,” took the No.1 spot on all ten online real-time music charts including Naver Music, MelOn, Daum and Mnet after its release on Monday.

The 13-track album comes five years after the release of his previous full-length album, “Humanimal” in 2009. The punky title song, featuring Jinsil of vocal group Mad Soul child, tells of MC Mong’s inner conflicts before he returned to the K-pop scene.

MC Mong’s unexpectedly strong performance on the music charts surprised the K-pop scene as the public anger towards him still remains over his alleged draft dodging.

The 35-year-old rapper kept low for nearly four years after being charged with deliberately delaying his military duty in 2010.

MC Mong allegedly paid dentists to pull out two of his teeth to be exempted from the mandatory military service, although he claimed that the teeth removal was for medical reasons.

Given the persistent public outcry, it remains unclear whether he will make any appearance on TV to promote his album.

MC Mong debuted as a member of the hip-hop group People Crew in 1998. The artist rose to prominence after appearing on the MBC sitcom “Non-Stop 4.” After he launched his solo career as a rapper in 2004, his upbeat music and comedic style gained broad popularity.

‘Lee Min-ho and I are kind of dry persons’

Korean actor Jung Il-woo, who recently finished his drama “The Night Watchman” successfully, talked about his close colleague Lee Min-ho in a recent interview with a local media.

Asked what he usually does to relax, the actor said, “When there’s no work, I’m really lazy. I just veg out.”

“I’m kind of a dry person. I don’t meet people often since it is tiresome (to go out). Lee Min-ho also has a similar personality, so he usually keeps indoors too. We always make an appointment and cancel it, saying ‘It bothers me (to go out), let’s meet another time.’ We’ve done it a number of times,” he added.

Lee Sung Kyung Talks About The Gong Hyo Jin And Jo In Sung Dating Rumors

Actress Lee Sung Kyung, who played Jo In Sung”s teenage stalker in “It”s Okay, It”s Love,” had something to say about the recently published photographs featuring the actor and his co-star actress Gong Hyo Jin.

The photographs, which appeared in the Dispatch, heightened rumors that the actor and Gong Hyo Jin were dating. The two actors co-starred in “It”s Okay, It”s Love,” playing a couple. He was a mystery writer suffering from delusions and she played the psychiatrist who fell in love with him.

The drama ended on Sept. 11. A week later Gong Hyo Jin broke up with actor Lee Jin Wook, her boyfriend of a year. Two weeks later, Jo In Sung broke up with actress Kim Min Hee. Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee had been dating since April 2013.

Representatives from Kim Min Hee”s agency cautioned that no one should jump to conclusions. The obvious conclusion was that both Gong Hyo Jin and Jo In Sung ended their respective relationships after growing closer on the set of “It”s Okay, It”s Love,” but both their agencies deny that the two are involved in a romantic relationship. They are only friends.

When the photographs showing Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin out at a café were published in the Dispatch, some assumed that the actors were caught on a date together. But Kim Ki Bang and But Lee Sung Kyung were also present and Lee says that the gathering was a cast celebration.

The actress told Newsen that the cast members are like family and the photographs were taken a casual get together that Lee Kwang Soo was also supposed to attend.

“Lee Kwang Soo was also supposed to come but he couldn't because his shooting ended too late.”

She stressed that all the cast members became close during the filming of the drama. Although staff members traveled to Thailand together for a vacation following the end of the drama, the cast did not have any official celebration. So, they got together for some drinks at a café in Itaewon. When Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin were photographed, Lee Sung Kyung was standing close to Gong Hyo Jin discussing whether they should share a cab. It was late.

“It was really nothing,” said Lee Sung Kyung.”

Kim Min Hee”s agency says that she and Gong Hyo Jin are still good friends.

Jo In Sung And Kim Min Hee Break Up: But Don't Jump To Any Conclusions

Days after Gong Hyo Jin broke up with her boyfriend actor Lee Jin Wook, her “It”s Okay It”s Love” co-star Jo In Sung has broken up with his girlfriend actress Kim Min Hee.

But, say representatives from Kim Min Hee”s agency, that coincidence does not mean you should jump to any conclusions.

Jo In Sung”s agency IOK Company and Kim Min Hee”s agency have both confirmed that the stars ended their relationship. The companies issued a joint official statement.

“This is our official statement concerning the headlines involving Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee,” said a release by IOK Company. “We”ve confirmed that due to their individual activities, schedules and busy daily lives, the two naturally drifted apart and naturally broke up.”

The statement also added that it was important not to jump to conclusions. The obvious conclusion might have been that both Gong Hyo Jin and Jo In Sung ended their respective relationships after growing closer on the set of “It”s Okay, It”s Love.” In that drama he played a mystery writer suffering from delusions and she played the psychiatrist who falls in love with him. But. Say the agencies, their drama relationship has nothing to do with reality.

“We find it unfortunate that speculations and false details that have not been checked have been exaggerated in articles. Please refrain from reporting on details that have not been confirmed. We plan on taking strong action against news outlets that report unrelated details, so please report the news carefully.”

The rumors may have originated with photographs that appeared in the Korean media outlet “Dispatch.” On Sept. 24, the Dispatch showed a photo of Jo In Sung, Kim Ki Bang and Gong Hyo Jin out at a café in Itaewon, Seoul, on the previous night. But it”s not news that Jo in Sung, Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Sung Kyung and the other actors from “It”s Okay It”s Love” are close.

Both agencies deny that Jo In Sung and Gong Hyo Jin are dating.

According to his management company, “Jo In Sung has continued his friendship with Gong Hyo Jin after becoming friends while filming their drama together.”

Soop Entertainment also released a statement on the gossip that arose from the Dispatch photos.

“The two became closer as friends while filming the drama. That meeting was just a casual meet-up to socialize among friends.”

Kim Min Hee and Gong Hyo Jin are also good friends.

Gong Hyo Jin and Lee Jin Wook dated for less than a year, going public with their relationship in May. Jo In Sung began dating Kim Min Hee in April 2013.

Dispatch spots Jo In Sung with Gong Hyo Jin, rumored to have broken up with Kim Min Hee

Actor Jo In Sung has been spotted with his “It”s Okay, That”s Love” co-star Gong Hyo Jin by Dispatch, sparking dating rumors as well as further fueling rumors that he”s broken up with his publicly acknowledged girlfriend Kim Min Hee.

Media outlet Dispatch reported on September 24, “Jo In Sung, Gong Hyo Jin,Kim Ki Bang, and more were photographed having a good time at a cafe in Itaewon, Yongsan-gu, Seoul on the night of the 23rd.” Photos of Jo In Sung, Gong Hyo Jin, and their acquaintances were also revealed.

After the news made headlines, Jo In Sung”s agency IOK Company responded,“Jo In Sung, Gong Hyo Jin, Lee Sung Kyung, and other actors from SBS” “It”s Okay, That”s Love” team are very close. On the night the photos were taken, they were all hanging out together.”

At the same time, there have been reports by an alleged insider that Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee are not together, but are still on good terms. On the rumors that Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee were no longer in a relationship, the agency stated, “Jo In Sung and Kim Min Hee are not broken up. They”re still dating well.”

Kim Hyun Joong”s ex-girlfriend denies any discussion or reception of settlement money in assault case

“A,” the ex-girlfriend who recently filed for the withdrawal of her lawsuit against Kim Hyun Joong on the grounds of assault on September 17, made it clear that there were no negotiations or talks over settlement money.

Her attorney told Star News on September 18, “Settlement money was never spoken of from the moment we received this case to the present moment. Without settlement money, we decided to withdraw the lawsuit after receiving the apology from Kim Hyun Joong.”

Her attorney stated, “Our client and Kim Hyun Joong did not simply date one or two times, but sincerely loved each other throughout two years of dating. It”s funny to ask him for money, and there was no reason to accept it even if it had been offered.

Assault is assault, but the problem was that her pride as a woman was hurt. That was why she wanted a sincere apology. Kim Hyun Joong showed regret and we received an apology from him, so she withdrew the lawsuit on the grounds she did not desire punishment.”

Kim Hun Joong posted an apology on his official website on Monday.

Singer-actor Kim Hyun-joong, 28, well known for his role in the KBS drama “Boys over Flowers” (2009), posted an apology on his official website Monday after being accused late last month of beating his ex-girlfriend on numerous occasions earlier this year.

“I feel so sorry to have physically and mentally hurt the person I loved and trusted for the past two years”, he wrote in the statement, in reference to his ex-girlfriend who, according to local media, is not a celebrity.

“I feel ashamed, as a man, to have committed an act I shouldn't have”, he continued, adding that the series of abuse was “completely” his fault. “I beg her for mercy. Having learned from this experience, I will try to live more righteously in the future”.

As of noon yesterday, local media reported that Kim”s ex-girlfriend is currently considering withdrawing the suit.

The case, which dates back to Aug. 22, has tarnished the princely image of the star. It began when a woman claiming to be his ex-girlfriend filed a police complaint charging that the singer had repeatedly beaten her over the course of several months.

Local media was soon flooded with reports that one altercation had left her with a broken rib.

Before the star acknowledged he had committed physical abuse, he announced through his agency, Key East, that the broken rib was accidental and due to a “prank”.

Kim Hyun Joong Issues Apology to “A,” Charges Might Be Dropped

Singer Kim Hyun Joong has issued a statement apologizing to his girlfriend, referred to as “A,” for physically assaulting her.

On September 15, the following message was posted on the singer’s official homepage:

Hello. This is Kim Hyun Joong.

Through this incident, I have caused serious mental and physical injuries to a person that I have trusted and loved for two years, and I am deeply sorry for that.

I feel deeply embarrassed of myself for doing things a man should not do.

As this whole case is a consequence of my wrongdoing, that person has no reason to be criticized.

I apologize to her once again, and I want to express my apologies to her family and friends as well.

Above all, I hope she will accept my apology and forgive me.

I will learn from this incident by doing my best to live a more well-behaved and healthy life.

Last week, on September 12, “A” demanded Kim Hyun Joong to apologize and admit to physically assaulting her. Now, the lawyer of “A” has come forward with their official response to the apology.

Lawyer Sun Jong Mun revealed to news outlet Newsen during a phone call: “It is exceptional that a celebrity admits to the allegations after being charged. The plaintiff ["A"] must now assess the sincerity of Kim Hyun Joong’s apology, and then decide whether to drop the charges or not.”

“As we originally wanted Kim Hyun Joong to admit to the physical assaults, self-reflect, and apologize, we are actively inquiring into dropping the charges without any terms,” the lawyer concluded.

Actors Lee Jong Suk and Park Shin Hye are considering casting offers for SBS‘s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama titled “Pinocchio.”

Both of Lee Jong Suk’s and Park Shin Hye’s agencies, Wellmade and S.A.L.T. Entertainment, respectively, stated that their stars are reviewing the offer.

Earlier in the month, it was reported by the local media that actor Kim Woo Bin, a close friend of Lee Jong Suk, was offered a role in “Pinocchio,” with a correction later by SBS stating that Kim Woo Bin was not being courted because of his schedule.

“Pinocchio” is scheduled to begin airing in November, following the completion of both “It’s Okay, It’s Love,” as well as “My Lovely Girl.”

Jang Geun Suk Stirs Up Trouble at Public Camping Site

Recently, Jang Geun Suk’s misbehavior at a public camping site was reported. On August 16, Jang Geun Suk and his group of friends went on a camping trip to Gyeonggi Province. However, the way they behaved on this trip brought on a lot of public criticism. According to other campers that were present that day, the group created a lot of ruckus with loud music and partying that lasted throughout the night.

A camper that was near the group, Mr. Kim, revealed in an interview, “Jang Geun Suk and his group of friends received a lot of complaints from other campers that were in their vicinity due to their late night partying. Turning off the lights at 11 p.m. is basic etiquette among campers, but they didn’t seem to respect that etiquette. Rather, they had the headlights of their cars on and music blaring, which disturbed the peaceful quiet of the camping site.”

According to Mr. Kim, Jang Geun Suk and his group of friends, who all seemed to be around their 20s, took a spot deeper into the woods. Regardless, because he is such a star, many in the vicinity recognized him. The public opinion is that since he had realized that many of the other campers had noticed who he was, he should have taken even more care in his behavior.

After arriving, the group soon behaved like the site was their own personal camping ground. Their barbecue party lasted into the night past 1 a.m., everyone enjoying their drinks and music. As their drinking party continued, their voices got louder and louder to the point where a fellow camper woke up and complained, asking them to “please stop and go to bed.” Eventually the party was broken up but at this point too many of the other camping families had woken to the ruckus.

The loudness of the party wasn’t the only factor that caused the other campers to complain. One of Jang Geun Suk’s friends had decided to turn on the headlights of one of Jang Geun Suk’s cars, and these headlights had been directed at other campers’ tents. One by one each of the camping families said something to the group, asking them to stop, but despite their numerous efforts, the group’s party didn’t seem to end. An additional complaint by the families was that some of the male members of the group had taken their shirts off and were wandering around the camp site, making some of the families uncomfortable, since many of them had children present with them as well.

According to Mr. Kim, “At the time most of the campers at the site knew that Jang Geun Suk was camping there as well. One of the ladies had gone to ask Jang Geun Suk for a photo but she came back empty-handed because he had refused, saying that it was his private life. I’m wondering why Jang Geun Suk wasn’t careful with his behavior when he was obviously aware that many of the campers had recognized him. I, too, had gone camping with my family to have a time of rehabilitation and bonding. However, this opportunity had gone to waste because of Jang Geun Suk and his friends. I was fond of him as a Hallyu star but through his incident I’ve become disappointed.”

Jang Geun Suk’s management agency released a statement on this matter, saying, “Jang Geun Suk had gone camping with his friends as a summer vacation trip. He hadn’t seen them in a long time so he had unintentionally caused some trouble at the site out of excitement for a long-awaited break. He had apologized on site after receiving the complaints but we apologize for not taking care as a well-known public figure.”

Some pictures of the camping site were released, which you can view here.

Meanwhile, Jang Geun Suk had recently returned to Korea after completing a performance at the “A-Nation” music festival on August 15.

* I can only say... he need  to fix this. I don't see how popularity give people right to do whatever they want. Sorry Jang Geun Suk, I'm not on your side for this.

Lee Kwang Soo Doesn’t Want to Caricaturize Tourette’s Syndrome in “It’s Okay It’s Love”

Lee Kwang Soo revealed that he took studying Tourette’s syndrome very seriously.

On August 6, actor Lee Kwang Soo participated in a press conference for the SBS drama “It’s Okay, It’s Love” at a café in Seoul. He stated, “A lot of people worried after hearing that I was going to act as a person with Tourette’s syndrome.”

“I think the problem was that maybe the disorder could have been caricaturized.” He explained, “Especially since I took the role, they worried more. I also knew about these problems, so I tried harder to study the disorder.”

“I thought that the only thing I could do was to sincerely study the topic and act it out on set. I have been having many conversations with the director, writer, and fellow actors while filming.” He concluded with, “I hope that the story will become one of hope for the parents of students or people with Tourette’s syndrome.”

Actor Kim Woo Bin Considering Casting Offer for New Drama “Pinocchio”

Actor Kim Woo Bin is currently looking over a casting offer to star in SBS‘s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama titled “Pinocchio.”

On August 7, a representative of Kim Woo Bin’s agency, Sidus HQ, revealed to Newsen, “It is true that Kim Woo Bin received a casting offer as the lead male role in “Pinocchio,” but nothing is confirmed. At the moment, there are various schedules left to be completed, so it is still too early to comment on the casting offer. Nothing has been decided.”

The rep also added, “Because Kim Woo Bin has not even started filming for the movie “Twenty” yet, it is too early to decide on his next production already.”

“Pinocchio” will follow the story of social affairs reporters, as a way of introducing the viewers to the world of reporters. It is a production created by the scriptwriter and director of popular drama “I Hear Your Voice,” Park Hye Ryun and PD Jo Soo Won.

Kim Woo Bin has been offered the role of Choi Dal Po, a social affairs reporter who has been working in the field for one year.

Meanwhile, “Pinocchio” is scheduled to begin airing in November, following the completion of both “It’s Okay, It’s Love,” as well as “My Lovely Girl.”

MC Mong is BACK!

I thought I'll just happy with the news about him joining Wellmade Yedang for his come back. But with this latest news coming up... seriously I'm finally typing again. Hahahaha

I've miss him a lot. Thank you for coming back.

"Entertainer MC Mong is gearing up to join an entertainment show on cable channel tvN, according to a report by Ilgan Sports, an affiliate of the Korea JoongAng Daily.

He will be on a new reality show that is being formed now. Neither the name of the program nor the filming schedule has been set yet.

The report said broadcaster asked MC Mong to join and the entertainer is also positive in taking the offer.

He has stayed away from any media exposure after he was involved in a lawsuit. He was suspected of having pulled out healthy teeth to avoid his military duty. He was found to be not guilty in 2012."

Will Mc Mong Comeback to Variety Show?

I wish to see him in variety show. I love his songs and I love his comical appearance... Just let him comeback. Wish there is no stupid issue brings up to shut him down again.

"MC Mong's comeback as a singer has been nearly confirmed for fall, and people are wondering whether or not he'll also make a comeback in a show variety program. There has been a mention of MC Mong working with Na Young Suk director, because they've worked together for "1 Night 2 Days" together before.
In response, Na Young Suk said, "I've never spoke with MC Mong about a new program. We sometimes meet with the old 2 Days 1 Night members and speak about working together again, but that's about it."
In the past, Na Young Suk and MC Mong have reached over a 40 percent rating with "2 Days and 1 Night," proving their fantastic interaction.
However, MC Mong said he will concentrate more on this music comeback rather than TV programs.
MC Mong's agency said, "MC Mong is currently finishing up the last of his music works in the United States. He will show a variety of different music."
The press wasn't as kind to MC Mong's comeback. Because his break from the industry was due to an issue regarding the army, which is one of the most sensitive issues in Korea, it won't be easy for MC Mong to stand up for himself."

Although the singer signed a contract with Wellmade Yedang, his comeback will be managed by DreamT Entertainment, which was acquired by Wellmade Yedang six months ago. This will make MC Mong and Girl’s Day new labelmates.

Korean Movie : Norigae (노리개)

My Thoughts:

At first I don't even put any interest on this movie, well I'm like almost all of you out there... I prefer Gong Yoo than Ma Dong Seok so when the poster came out I don't even try to take a glimpse on it well need to blame it on the A list actors coz almost every one of them look 'hot' kekeke~.

I only started put an interest on it because of my curiosity on the movie title, Norigae (노리개) means "Korean traditional ornaments worn by women". That curiosity brings me to this movie and later realize that the story line remind me of Jang Ja Yeon. Since I've been following her suicide case which has stir the Korean entertainment for some time.

Watching it just remind me of how brutal the industry, and how women discriminated. For me this movie is just like a door which lead us someway we thought we knew and ignore it, and it's about time for us to open the door, take a look and listen. I don't know if this movie might change how people view on the case, or maybe take a little bit concern on how women have been treated instead of pretending to be blind, deaf and ignorance.

I've quoted a review from cliqueasia which I can relate to and agree with it.

"Although sort of an open secret, sex bribes within the South Korean entertainment industry have more recently become an indictment, not just on the industry as a whole, but on South Korea's treatment of women in general, particularly those in showbiz. How entertainment, and the desire for fame by the young, are unconsciously entwined with the power structures of big business and politics still seems, at least from a non-Korean perspective, to be a last vestige of one the misuses of Confucian morality. However, little seems to have changed for women's rights with the exposure of the issue, with sex scandals and first hand accounts of abuse popping up constantly. The latest was the Open World Entertainment scandal, in which the CEO of the company was arrested on alleged charges of sexual assault of his performers, two of them underage, and even using his power to intimidate the male singers employed by his company to assault female trainees. It seems only natural, then, that there would be filmmakers ready to ruminate on this sensitive issue with the local audience.

The director for the film Norigae, Choi Seung-ho, claims that he drew inspiration from the Jang Ja-yeon scandal of 2009. Jang Ja-yeon was a popular actress from TV, starring in the show Boys Over Flowers. She had just embarked on, what many believe would have been, a productive film career, when she was found hanged on a railing inside her apartment complex. While this was perhaps not a rare decision for women in her profession, the key comparative difference in her case was that she had a clear wish to haunt her persecutors from the grave. She did this by keeping a seven page journal with names and dates of all those involved in her abuse. (Note: The journal has since been judged as a forgery by the courts of South Korea). The journal alleged that she was forced by her manager to provide sexual services to studio execs, directors and CEOs in return for the promise of future career advancement. In Norigae's narrative, Jang Ja-yeon is represented by Jeong Ji-hee (Min Ji-hyun). Most of the story takes place in court, where prosecutor Kim Mi-hyeon (Lee Seung-yeon) brings claims against Jeong Ji-hee's agent, director and their CEO, with allegations that Jeong Ji-hee was forcibly brought to meet the CEO by her agent to perform these 'services' and was subsequently groped. Initially, Mi-hyeon gets nowhere as witnesses willing to support a dead woman's account are hard to find. The entire prosecution, therefore, relies on the existence of the diary of Jeong Ji-hee, which no-one seems be able to find or, for the authorities covering up after themselves, claim didn't exist at all. Lee Jang-ho (Ma dong-seok) enters the story at this point as the key player in the whole saga, being the only reporter dogged enough to hunt down the diary. Of course, the plot is helped along by the fact that, having been acrimoniously fired from his post with a popular newspaper and relegated to an online news company with few staff or viewers, Jang-ho can't sink much further down the social ladder of South Korea, where status is everything.

Despite the claim of being merely 'inspired' by the Jang Ja-yeon scandal, which includes the great lengths the opening credits go to leave no doubt that the film is entirely fictional and the characters are in no way related to real people, the script ends up being a carbon copy of how the story played out in the media. This is the first problem with the film. Even one with a cursory knowledge of the issue will be able to predict and comprehend in advance the roles of each of the characters. Bad guys over here, good guys over there. This is a surmountable problem but, unfortunately, the one dimensional characters never take the viewer anywhere unexpected. Although the treatment of Jeong Ji-hee is reprehensible and many instances of abuse and bullying are shown, we are given no other answer to the questions posed by the actions of the individuals themselves. The perpetrator's actions are not really explained with any real depth, other than the fact these men are cretins and seem to be able to get away with their behaviour. The fact that the why of their actions is not discussed, leaving us with a simple story of abuse of authority and criminality, means the director fails at his attempt at resonance with social reality that he must have sought in the first place. This renders the film inert and rather boring to watch during stages one would expect to be riled up, intrigued, informed or braced by any other emotion that would keep them motivated enough to keep watching. The second, related problem, is that of the intermingling of flashbacks with the courtroom proceedings of the present. For the most part, the flashbacks do not help build tension or add insight but pull the viewer out of the events and any explanation behind the motives of all of the key players. For example, one of the key perpetrators, her agent Cha Jeong-hyeok (Hwang Tae-gwang) is meticulously descriptive in his dialogue in the flashbacks. It's almost like he is narrating the course of his future court proceedings from the point of view of the prosecutor. The flashback containing the CEO and his S&M session with Jeong Ji-hee surpasses this ridiculousness. Presumedly, this was done for shock value, to bring to light the real perverseness of the ones with the most power and how they are able to hide themselves from any responsibility. The scene, however, felt like it was spliced from another movie. Worst of all, through this blatant eroticism, the audience becomes complicit in the torture by the fact that it gives no license to the viewer's imagination or to ruminate on their own personal values. Not only that, it detracted from the real substance of the movie; Kim Mi-hyeon's struggle to bring the abusers to justice. This is perhaps the only compelling feature of the narrative.

Making a film that is a mere reanactment of the actual life of a specific victim and not giving an analysis of what lead to the characters actions, or at least an interpretation of what kind of a society would deem it permissible to function in this particular way, disempowers the director for whatever he wanted to say with this movie. The only advantage that a movie like this has is that it broaches the issue as it is still relatively fresh in the media and has a chance to reach a receptive audience. But is that done for the benefit of the victims or someone else? Any proper analysis would take years of research and hard work in committing this social reality to film. This film only appears to be cashing in on the hardships of the real victims. There is plenty of need for a film dealing with this aspect of South Korean society. Sadly, this is not it and one could only hope that other film makers would have the courage to approach this issue with more sensitivity and less sensationalism.

The film ends with the perfunctory images of angry women with placards as some sort of indication that the issue will carry on in the hearts of the victim's families and those with a stake in the righteous cause of female equality. By that stage, however, all good will is already lost on the filmmakers part. It is lost because, as was said before, the film merely captures the rage of a particular, specific incident but not the rage of those abused then and still today. Just before the credits, statistics from a recent survey by The Korean Women’s Development Institute are shown. One of them was this: 60.2% of the actresses surveyed agreed to the statement “I received a request for sexual bribery or to sit in for drinking parties.” Facts can always be a launching pad for great film. Upon seeing this, in retrospect, one could be forgiven for feeling like the movie had just started, since this simple statistic is far more revealing than the rest of the movie that preceded it."
