Kim Soo Hyun, Jung Il Woo, and Others Film “The Moon that Embraces the Sun”

MBC’s latest drama “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” has exceeded expectations, surpassing 20% viewership ratings by the third episode – even without the main leads. Last night, MBC’s “Section TV Entertainment” went behind the scenes of the popular series to catch a glimpse of its lead actors Kim Soo Hyun, Jung Il Woo, Nam Bo Ra, and Song Jae Hee.

For the first four episodes, the child actors have rocked the screen, receiving non-stop praises for their strong performances. Their strong acting, as well as the intriguing plot, has raised viewers’ expectations in what’s to come.

“Section TV Entertainment” caught up with Kim Soo Hyun, who plays King Lee Hwon; Jung Il Woo, who plays Prince Yang Myung; Nam Bo Ra, who plays Princess Min Hwa; and Song Jae Hee, who plays Heo Yeum. Director Kim Do Hoon revealed, “The adult actors started filming yesterday,” to which the four stars added, “Please continue to enjoy the show following the transition.”

“The Moon that Embraces the Sun” is a fantasy historical drama (sageuk) set in the Joseon Dynasty. King Lee Hwon (Kim Soo Hyun) and his half-brother Prince Yang Myung (Jung Il Woo) fall for the same girl, a shaman named Wol (Han Ga In). Wol, whose real name is Yeon Woo, was the Crowned Princess, betrothed to the Crowned Prince Lee Hwon. She was plotted against and “executed” by those who were both jealous and fearful of her beauty and wits as a young girl.

Lead actors Kim Soo Hyun, Han Ga In, Jung Il Woo, Nam Bo Ra, and Song Jae Hee will finally make their grand appearance on January 25. “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” drew in 23.4% ratings (AGB Nielsen) for its fourth episode last Thursday night.

Jung Il Woo's Changes his Ideal Type Every Year

The cast of MBC’s upcoming historical drama, “The Moon that Embraces the Sun” gathered yesterday, January 2, for a press conference. “The Moon Embracing the Sun” is a fantasy historical drama (sageuk) set in the Joseon Dynasty and stars “Dream High’s” Kim Soo Hyun, “Bad Guy’s” Han Ga In, “Baby-Faced Beauty’s” Kim Min Seo, and “Flower Boy Ramyun Shop’s” Jung Il Woo.

In the series, Jung Il Woo plays Prince Yang Myung who is second in line for the throne and the half-brother of Lee Won (Kim Soo Hyun). Yang Myung and Lee Won fall for the same girl, a shaman named Wol (Han Ga In) who eventually falls for Lee Won.

Jung Il Woo described, “While he looks bright and cheerful on the outside, Yang Myung is actually full of pain and agony. Despite his bright smiles, he’s a very sad character. He’s constantly conflicted between reason and sensibility.”

While his character shows devotion to one love, Jung Il Woo surprised reporters by comparing his dating style to a nickel-silver pot. He stated, “I love like a nickel-silver pot. I tend to get passionate really fast, and I cool down [forget his ex] once we end our relationship.” The humorous comment caused everyone at the conference burst into laughter. Jung Il Woo continued, “My theory of love, relationships, and ideal type changes every year. Right now, the beautiful and hard-working Han Ga In sunbaenim is my ideal girl.” Slightly embarrassed, Jung Il Woo added, “I lost control over this situation.”

“The Moon that Embraces the Sun” is written by Jung Eun Gwol, who also wrote last year’s “Sungkyunkwan Scandal,” starring JYJ’s Yoochun, Park Min Young, Song Joong Ki, and Yoo Ah In. It will air its pilot episode tomorrow, January 4, 2012 on MBC at 9:55PM KST.

49일 (49 Days) Photo Spams

Finally we have arrived at the end of the journey of 49 Days. How was the 49 Days for you? did you have a great journey or is it possible that you got disappointed with it? well I have a mix feelings about how its end... maybe because I did not expect what they're giving us hahaha... but I can tell you that I'm sure having a great journey with them (^^)

To those who haven't watch it yet, you might want to put this drama on your list. It might not as extravagant as Secret Garden or My Girlfriend is Gumiho, but this is definitely one of those fantasy dramas that can make you sit tight and watch.

I like how the stories related to each one of them. But leaving us guessing what happened to Hang Kang & Song Yi Kyung just makes me go nuts. I don't really fancy with this kind of ending. It makes me wonder what kind of relationship they have... lovers? friends? Well I would love to think they're in love now since they've ended it with words such... ' because I've met you, now I'm happy...'

Ops! hope that little spoiler from me won't ruin your imagination hahaha... I won't spilled more. But here some screen cap and photos from 49 Days.

After having finished all of the scheduler's roles, he said, "I can't believe it's already over. I was a scheduler that managed a 49-day traveler but I think it was a 49-day adventure for me. They went by quickly but now that I've completed my journey I am so happy and thrilled".

He continued, "Doing this drama, I felt the preciousness of life and started thinking seriously about life and death. I am grateful to the director, writer and all the other staffs that allowed me to learn something like this".

The scheduler which Jeong Il-woo played in the drama "49 Days", is a new idea that played an important role in the layout of the drama. He said, "The new and awkward character of a scheduler was a challenge and adventure for me. I enjoyed being the scheduler".

He also spoke about his expectations in the next project. "As much as I loved "49 Days" I am sad it's over but I will hold it and the scheduler in a corner of my heart and hopefully I will soon come out with another item".

Jeong Il-woo created several issues playing the scheduler with his unique character, hair fashion and acting, earning him the remark that he's become much more grown up and mature.
