2010 KBS Drama Awards

First of all...
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Wish 2011 be A great year for all of us!

Now let's back to the topic...
I've watch the whole ceremony even when I'm in the middle of my own event... Hahaha
How did I do that? thanks to our digital world... nothing is impossible but of coz it's not something I proud doing of but well what can I say... I just can't miss it (^^)

I should say nothing surprise me for this year award, everything is just perfectly fit with what I have in mind. When they announced the nominees I started pointing who will win and it just come out with the same result hahaha.... I'm good at pointing and pick  ^^

The Daesang Award goes to Jang Hyuk... I'm happy with that... if he didn't get it I might end up angry till now.

I'm proud with Moon Geun Young... she never disappoint me and with her character in 'Cinderella's Sister' and 'Mary Stay out All Night', I can't see any other reason that she can't win the Top Excellence Actress, that goes the same with Park Yoo Chun, he deserve to win the Newcomer Award.... why? comparing him with other nominees... he have less experience in acting and he really doing good in 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal'... of coz there is a moment when my fan-girling instinct showed up... Jang Geun-suk Says "Minamishineyo," "Mary" Completely Different

In upcoming TV series "Marry me, Mary," Jang Geun-suk may be reprising his role from his last drama "Minamishineyo" where he played the vocalist of a rock band but the actor says the two shows and his characters are anything but similar.

Jang made the remark at a press conference for his new drama held in Seoul on Wednesday, saying that the two shows are completely different; the former based on marriage for people in their 20s and the latter a music drama which shows the process of how an idol band grows.

In "Mary," main female character Mary played by Moon Geun-young, makes realizations about love and herself while being in two fake marriages for 100 days to completely different men -- Mugyul played by Jang and Jungin by model-actor Kim Jae-wook.

"Minamishineyo" was about a girl who pretends to be a man to join popular idol group A.N.JELL which is headed by Jang's character Tae-kyung.

Jang stressed that the two have no similarities either and are “rather likely to be from different worlds, from opposite sides of the globe."

"Tae-kyung is unlikely to exist in real life, being cartoon-like from his form of speech to his actions and he doesn't open himself up to anyone," Jang explained of the character who was a perfectionist and so much of a nut about cleanliness that he would not let anyone close to him physically, let alone his heart.

"But Mugyul is like a street cat. He'll sleep anywhere, even outside if he gets drunk, and he's free-spirited," the actor said of his "Mary" character who he described as the type to 'go for anything.' "He'll also easily date around but a month per girl would be his maximum. He won't actually fall in love with anyone because he has been hurt."

Jang then confessed he fell for the drama as soon as he laid eyes on the script in April and had to plead producers not to hand the script to anyone else.

The 20-part show is based on a comic of the same name by Won Soo-yeon, the original cartoonist for 2004 smash-hit drama "Full House" which starred Asian superstar Rain and actress Song Hye-kyo.

The actor was also all praises for his co-star Moon Geun-young, whom he said he was honored to work with and “clicked” with as soon as he saw her. The two are both 23 and have led similar career paths, debuting as child actors more than ten years ago.

"I yelled 'hooray' the moment I found out Moon was cast for the show. I was sure we'd be able to learn a lot from each other and make something that is more of our own, something I usually didn’t get to do since I’m usually the youngest one on set, and I also felt that she'd be someone I could really talk to," Jang remarked excitedly.

He then said, "The funny thing is, I had thought up so many things to say to her for the first time we met but we actually felt awkward until we started drinking and finally both blurted to each other 'I really wanted to work with you.'"

Moon agreed. “Of course I was mesmerized with the role I’d be playing but the fact that I knew Jang was cast in the show played a big part in my decision.”

"Mary," targeted at viewers not just in Korea but around Asia, has been pre-sold to China and Taiwan at record high prices ahead of going on air November 8.

Jang however, did not see any particular significance in the drama as a Hallyu, or Korean Wave content. "It would be great for the show to become known throughout Asia but what's more crucial is that it shows our culture the way it is in an honest yet fun way."

Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong's Wedding Photo Shoots

Wedding photographs from upcoming KBS TV series "Marry Me, Mary," starring Korean stars Moon Geun-young and Jang Keun-suk, have been revealed.

The show's promoter Ytree media on Friday released several pictures of the main character Mary (Moon) donning a short white wedding gown with a pink sash and Moo-kyul (Jang) wearing a black tuxedo.

Earlier this week, Ytree unveiled a picture of Mary in her wedding attire placed between Moo-kyul and Jung-in (played by Kim Jae-wook).

"I thought Mary (Moon) looked very pretty today (laugh) and I thought I looked pretty good as well. I had so much fun on set and I hope the audience will enjoy watching the show," Jang was quoted as saying.

Based on the online comic by famed writer Won Soo-yeon, "Marry Me" is about Mary who makes realizations about love and herself while being in two fake marriages for 100 days to completely different men - Moo-kyul and Jung-in.

"Marry Me, Mary" will premiere on November 8 after current drama "SungKyunKwan Scandal," starring Park Yuchun finishes its run.

Jang Geun-seok & Moon Geun-yeong Looked Like a Real Couple

Demo video of upcoming drama from KBS 2TV, 'Mary Stayed Out All Night' was released; many people pointed out that Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong looked like a real couple.

Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong showed a real couple-like image via a video clip of drama 'Mary Stayed Out All Night'. In the video, they were wandering around Hongdae while holding their hands just like a real couple.

Because of the fact that they acted their parts so beautifully, that scene almost felt unreal.

Especially, people pointed out that the scene, where Jang Geun-seok plays his guitar and Moon Geun-yeong is taking his picture, was really natural. Most people left positive comments for this demo video.

Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong also confessed that they decided to be friends when there was a meeting with all production members of 'Mary Stayed Out All Night'. They became friends real quick since they were both born in 1987, started from child acting, and loved the script of 'Mary Stayed Out All Night'.

One staff from this drama said, “I felt real deep friendship between them from their talking and mood. By showing a lovely image that which is lovelier than a real couple, even viewers who watch this drama will feel happiness.

Only by the fact that this drama is the combination of Jang Geun-seok and Moon Geun-yeong, it became a top ranker in many portal sites.

'Mary Stayed Out All Night', which will follow 'Sungkyunkwan Scandal', is a romantic comedy about marriage simulation of one girl and two boys. It will be on air on November 8th.

"Mary Is Out All Night" Presold To China For Record High Price

Upcoming Korean series "Mary Is Out of Night" starring Jang Keun-suk has been presold to China for a record high price for a drama, according to the show's promoter Ytree Media.

On Wednesday, Ytree announced that Golden Luck 社, one of China's largest distribution companies, have signed a contract for distribution rights of the new drama which is set to air on Korea's public network KBS starting next month.

Golden Luck 社 has bought rights to Korean dramas before including KBS' "My Precious You" and "My Fair Lady."

"'Mary Is Out of Night' is just right for the young viewers in China with its cheerful and light romantic comedy storyline," an official from Golden Luck was quoted as saying, adding that they have high hopes because of the show's notable writers and cast.

The show had already been presold to Taiwan during the Taipei TV Festival in late September.

Based on the online comic by famed writer Won Soo-yeon, "Mary" revolves around a woman (played by Moon Geun-young) who makes realizations about love and herself while being in two fake marriages for 100 days to completely opposite men -- Moo-kyul (played by Jang) and Jung-in (played by Kim Jae-wook).

"Mary" will premiere on November 8 after current Micky Yoochun starrer "SungKyunKwan Scandal" ends its run.

Moon Geun Young Decides to Take Role on "Mary Stayed Out All Night"

Top Korean actress Moon Geun-yeong has decided to join the main cast of an upcoming KBS TV series also starring actor Jang Geun-seok, according to the show's promoter Ytree;media on Monday.

Ytree announced through a press release that the 23-year-old starlet will take on the role of the shameless and optimistic Mary in the drama based on comic "Mary Stayed Out All Night" by famed cartoon writer Won Soo-yeon.

"Mary Stayed Out All Night" will be a romantic comedy which revolves around Mary who makes realizations about love and herself while being in two fake marriages for 100 days -- to Moo-kyul, a hippie and Indie band lead vocalist who has nothing, and Jung-in, a man who has everything including the brains, looks and wealth.

"'Mary Stayed Out All Night' is brilliant in terms of its material and plot but is also fun and appealing because of its unique characters", Moon said. "I feel pressured because simulated marriage is a topic which has never been handled in dramas before but I'm also excited and nervous about how I'll show it".

Just last week, Jang had confirmed he had been cast for the role of Moo-kyul in the drama set to air starting November, after series "Sungkyunkwan Scandal" ends its run.

Moon, currently starring in play "Closer" as Alice, the role of a stripper taken on by Natalie Portman in the movie version, last appeared on the popular small screen show "Cinderella's Sister" five months ago.

Moon, with already 10 years of acting experience under her belt, has appeared in numerous films and dramas including "Autumn in my Heart" and "My Little Bride".

She also won the grand prize at major broadcaster SBS' year-end Acting Awards last year for her role as a talented painter in drama "Painter of the Wind" which has received several international acclaims.
