MBLAQ Lee Joon's mother's endless bragging "Daughter-in-law? Kim Yuna"

MBLAQ Lee Joon's mother raised a hot topic when she revealed that she has always thought of Kim Yuna as a suitable daughter-in-law.

On the 5th, Lee Joon's mother made a special appearance on KBS 2TV's '100 Points Out of 100'. Besides boasting passionately about Lee Joon, she also showed off her son's silly aspects.

She started bragging about her son when she said, "My son is the killer smile terminator. No matter what, he has a really good body. I'm not exaggerating when I say his shoulder muscles are his best masterpiece".

Lee Joon's mother did not spare any compliments, "My son's future wife can make use of his muscles as a natural pillow for a lifetime".

Then, the MCs asked, "Do you usually keep an eye on any female celebrity who is suitable to be your daughter-in-law?". She replied, "Honestly, my standards are not very high. She isn't a celebrity, but I have my eyes on Kim Yuna", shocking all the guests on the show.

On The Set of a One-Act Drama With MBLAQ's Lee Joon

Lee Joon and Yang Mi-kyung [Chae Ki-won/10Asia]

"Okay, fans please get ready." On a hot August day, boy band MBLAQ member Lee Joon, no, him as the rapper of popular idol group, is waiting on the stage of the Melon AX Hall in Seoul. This location, where a fan meeting and birthday party are shot together, is the set for MBC's one-act drama "Housewife Kim Kwang-ja's New Activity." Housewife Kim Kwang-ja (played by actress Yang Mi-kyung), who was spending boring and tedious days because of her curt husband and supporting her indifferent high school daughter, for the first time in her life starts acting as a 'fan' after coming across Jin's music. This starts to slowly change the life of Kim Kwang-ja's life and the people around her in the most unexpected ways.

It was not an open recording but when the stylist fixed Lee Joon's make-up and even when he just took a gulp of water, the screams that burst out from fans heated up the scene even more. Lee Joon, embarrassed from the cheering and applauding whenever the director gives an okay sign, shows the most natural stage manner when singing his group's song "One Better Day" wish revised lyrics. When glow-in-the-dark sticks are handed out, the supporting cast who have no experience being 'fans,' they start shaking them thoughtlessly but it's a piece of cake for actual fans who have volunteered to take part in the shoot. For the climax scene where Kim Kwang-ja and Jin meet on stage, Lee Joon takes actress Yang Mi-kyung's hand and places it above his heart during a rehearsal. The audience automatically breaks out into a scream but the crew is busy steadying them while telling them, "Scream all you want, even more than you did now, when we go into shoot!" What is this strange meeting between an idol star and middle-aged lady -- romance? Just a scandal? Or something else? You can check the results of "Housewife Kim Kwang-ja's New Activity" at 10:35 a.m. on September 22.

Q&A with MBLAQ By 10Asia

These days, making a debut as an idol group in Korea is similar to a turtle egg that has been hatched on the beach. The moment the baby turtle breaks out of the egg shell and enters the ocean, he is guaranteed an infinite amount of freedom but a considerable number of them are put into a life or death crisis during the short time they head out to the ocean. Likewise, for idol group singers, the toughest and the most dangerous time in their careers is after they have made their debut and are trying to settle into their own place in the music industry. Most idol groups do not succeed in getting the public's attention and disappear from the spotlight right after their debut. Those who survived the phase come to life again through numerous stage performances and variety show appearances. It is only after people start recognizing them and gain a visible amount of fandom that the idol group members can get what they want, little by little. The members of MBLAQ are little warriors who battled through such dangerous survival game. MBLAQ, who caused a stir for being Rain's first idol group creation at the time of their debut, are gradually building up their own identity after going through many trials and errors and making as many accomplishments. These days, one can easily see them in any of Korea's variety shows. And not too long ago, they took the No. 1 spot on Mnet music show "M! Countdown." 10Asia met with the boys who just finished preparing for their dive into the ocean and talked about what they are currently up to.

10: Have you been watching the World Cup games?
Joon: Yes. I've been watching the highlights. (laugh)

10: Why? Because you are busy?
Joon: Yes. We are really busy. I used to want to be an actor so before I debuted, I knew what movies were playing in theaters. But these days I have no idea what's playing.

10: You are pretty much cut off from the world if you don't have time to watch the World Cup. (laugh)
Mir: It's the World Cup! (laugh)
G.O.: I think that is why we are living a pure life. (laugh) Like how guys in the countryside would be living. When I occasionally get free time and meet with other singers, I think to myself, "Ah, I am a very pure-living person." (laugh)
Joon: That is really, really, really true.

10: G.O., you even said on television that you went out with twenty girls before you debuted. (laugh)
G.O.: Whew, these days I feel like all that has been swiped clean and I have returned to a blank state. (laugh) Whatever you do, you feel bored if you do too much of it and you need a bigger stimulation. We have been living a secluded life for several years so I feel like when we do get the free time, we would have so much to do. And that makes me happy.

10: I heard that Mir sold a cow to go on a date. (laugh)
Mir: Yes, I am a liberal person... Haha. I think I've done pretty much everything in life.

10: The song "Y" reached No.1 on music show "M! Countdown." Did you have a change of heart after making No.1? (laugh) Didn't you have a celebration party or something afterwards?
Mir: We just rehearsed after the show, you know.

10: So you didn't have a change of heart. (laugh)
Seung Ho: My mental attitude did change a little. I feel more responsibility and I have ideas about what kind of music we should do next.
Cheon Dung: I just cried that night and forgot about it. Forgot about claiming No.1. I plan to keep forgetting about it if we make No.1 again in the future.

10: Seung Ho cried a little when you took No.1 for the first time on "M! Countdown." As the group's leader, perhaps you felt more emotional than others?
Seung Ho: I didn't think that I would cry. But my paternal grandfather passed away before we took No.1 and I would suddenly break down after saying a few words. If he had been healthy enough to be here for just two more weeks, he could heard our new song... So when I stood there making several comments, all the past memories really flashed through my head like pictures. I was very sad because I remembered my grandfather.
Mir: (imitates Seung Ho crying) Ugh- ugh-
Cheon Dung: He cried his heart away in tears.
Joon: I left mine in Sangam-dong [where the Mnet studio is located.].
G.O.: You know how they show the record sales and the judges' stats when they announce No.1? At that moment, you already start drawing out you emotions and strike a cool pose and...
Cheon Dung: I was standing next to him and he was already feeling emotional before that..
Mir: Everyone gasped for about three to five seconds and then started crying, but I cried the second they yelled "MBLAQ!" It was very embarrassing.

MBLAQ, "Rain sunbae* is a big mountain that we have to overcome and goal" ①

There is a moment where I begin to question if this person is the person that I knew. At that moment, it is somewhat strange, somewhat new. MBLAQ is the latter. These boys have something that is different from the other idol groups with their innocent yet adult like features.

Although senior singer 'Rain's' glory is very bright and big, but these short but stout new idol group MBLAQ has said they will overcome it. MBLAQ who has said Individual promotions or advancing oversees "is unworthy for us who haven't even won first place yet" has just recently gotten their first, first place after 8 months of their debut on the 3rd. The new song 'Y' has been promoted for only two weeks and already it won first place on the professional cable broadcast Mnet 'M Countdown.' Before the boys caused this accident (?) we met them.

"Happy that we can show a variety of characteristics with nicknames such as 'chic-dol'"

-Introduce the new song 'Y'

▶(Seungho) If the main focus of our last single first album title was performance then this time the individual parts are distinct. This is a song that with all the fitted parts that the individual has to show their theatrical sides. Seeing that the overall song is simple on stage, the choreography's magnificence had to be minimized.

-'Y' had received disqualification judgment from SBS and MBC because of the lyrics.

▶(Mir) I feel bad about it. We're like this but as expected our fans feel bad as well. Because it passed on cable and KBS I thought it would be passed through all, but it couldn't pass SBS and MBC.

-'Dongba-Do' (Village Idiot Idol)', 'Chic-dol' there are a lot of nicknames.

▶(GO) I think it's affirmative. With only one image I think they will grow weary of it. I think that also because our the real personalities' part, the giving of pet names is a way of displaying interest.
(Seungho) I think with the generation changing there is not only one thing that they like. We want to show that when we're friendly we're friendly, when we're on stage we're cool.

-This music video gathered a lot of interest. Are there any episodes?

▶(Joon) At that time because I had so little sleep I don't remember what state of mind I was filming in. Filming for the music video was harder than filming for the movie 'Ninja Assassin.' As much as receiving support from next to me. Because I was lacking sleep I yelled out a lot and when I cried I cried a lot. I cried 6,7 times in one day. The last shower scene was filmed in the morning and I couldn't see in front of me and I think I lost my mind, I felt as if my spirit had gone out of me.
(GO) I first shaved my mustache and filmed, but as we were filming my mustache kept growing and the mark would be shown on the screen So during filming I would have to shave. I was very troubled. I always carry around an electro motion shaver.

-Talking about GO's mustache, I think it would have been a burden to have a mustache as a character within the idol group.

▶(GO) I like growing my mustache. During my trainee period, and when I auditioned I had my mustache. When we first released our album Rain hyung suggested for me to find a different road from the others. With the thought of not going out with a pretty like feature, but more of a peculiar character. However looking at the broadcasts, I felt as I was I was harming our team. Although I wouldn't mind the words "Why is there an ahjussi**" would remain in my brain. I have no thoughts of growing my mustache unless it's like Santa Clause. With my mustache my hair style and make up ways don't show as much.

"Rain sunbae is one mountain that we have to cross over sometime"

Jung Joori and MBLAQ's G.O and Lee Joon's Love Triangle

This upcoming cable TV episode on the 4th of O'Live "COCO&MARC2", MBLAQ member G.O was replaced by Lee Joon who did his chin-cutting dance during the recording and shook the girls hearts.

Lee Joon used his body all out during recording and replaced the mood-maker G.O's empty seat. Lee Joon who had been showing his strong charisma had caught idol-killer Joori's eyes.

Joori had forgotten her love for the constant G.O and turned her eyes to Lee Joon creating a G.O-Joori-Lee Joon love triangle.

In YoungDeungPo Time Square at M shop she enchanted Lee Joon with her luxury resort-style look. In contrast to her casual style, she appeared wearing a deep neckline high quality long dress as she entered, showing off her glamorous body.

Lee Joon was shy at seeing this side of Joori for the first time and didn't know where to place his eyes or look, but Jung Joori found this side of Lee Joon very cute.

Korean pop sensation MBLAQ scored a win on Mnet's televised music program yesterday, their first time to take first place on a music show since making a debut eight months ago.

The boys beat out five-member boy band SS501 on Mnet's "M! Countdown" with their second single "Y," which was released online on May 16 and went on sale two days later.

MBLAQ leader Seung-ho thanked their agency and producer Rain, while members G.O. and Lee Joon thanked the rest of the group and their fans.

An official at J.Tune remarked through a press release, "We were able to see such a great achievement thanks to the efforts of the five members of MBLAQ. We thank them for their efforts and their fans for always supporting them."

MBLAQ (Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality), composed of other members Thunder and Mir, was discovered and trained by Asian pop sensation Rain under his label J.Tune. They made their debut in 2009 with their single album "Just BLAQ."

* MBLAQ & Rain deserve to be win & happy about it. Everyone have been working hard. I'm still happy if SS501 win both have their own charm.
