Private Kim Tae Pyung (Hyun Bin) has been selected to be the emcee of the 22nd Marine Corps Band Concert, to be held on Sept 30 at the Yeouido KBS Hall. This will be Hyun Bin’s debut attempt as an emcee, while serving his military duty in the Marines.

The Marine Corps Band Concert is a public event held annually by the Marine Corps. While displaying the discipline expected of the ROK military, it also aims to capture the hearts of the people with their music. The concert will be carried out in a similar way to KBS’s “Open Concert,” thus even if the emcee does not speak much, he has an important role to play throughout the two-hour concert.

Members of the public who want to attend the event can apply through the Marine Corps internet homepage (http://www.rokmc.mil.kr/) from Sept 23 to 25. 500 seats s will be available.

Also performing in this concert is singer Oh Jong Hyuk, currently serving his military duty in the Marine Corps Band.

Lee Dong-wook is here after Hyeon Bin and Cha Seung-won. If Hyeon Bin's Kim Joo-won and Cha Seung-won's Dok Go-jin had ladies falling over at the start of this year, the later half is led by Lee Dong-wook's Kang Ji-wook.

Lee Dong-wook returned with the SBS weekend drama "Scent of a Woman" as soon as he got out of the army. He headed straight for the set as he was scheduled for a poster shoot. Was it because he wanted to start so badly that his first project out of the army has been successful?

We met him in a café in Seoul recently. He thought seriously before he spoke and he spoke in a flat but rhythmic tone. He was witty enough to throw a few jokes here and there and we took a look at the 4 keywords that surround him.

◇ Hyeon Bin

Lee Dong-wook knew about the little nickname 'the 2nd Hyeon Bin' from viewers. Hyeon Bin is a star who brought on the romantic comedy fever. As Hyeon Bin's joining the army and Lee Dong-wook's exit meshed, the two were contrasted in a strange way. Lee Dong-wook said, "I am grateful for being compared with a star like that and I think the timing was awesome. I know Hyeon Bin to be a year younger than me but I want to be the '1st Lee Dong-wook'".

◇ Kim Seon-ah

Between Hyeon Bin and Lee Dong-wook is Kim Seon-ah. Before "Scent of a Woman" she co-starred with Hyeon Bin in "My Name Is Kim Sam Soon". Lee Dong-wook said, "We met for the first time on set and after we said 'Hi!' we hugged each other". What he means is that they got close practicing the tango for a month. "I thought I could get more help than pressure from her as she is the logo queen. She knows how to lead on set and is very considerate of other people".

◇ Boom

Lee Dong-wook and Boom are fellow soldiers from the Korean National Defense Promotion Center. Lee Dong-wook sent Boom a banner on his day out to celebrate. About Lee Dong-wook, Boom said, "He is a multi-entertainer as white as a sheet of paper". Lee Dong-wook received a bunch of flowers right after the drama preview. It was from Boom. "He's younger than me but he's very deferential. Now that he's active again, I asked him to call me for one of his programs".

◇ Kim Jae-won

Kim Jae-won was also in the same camp as Lee Dong-wook and they were close even before the army. At the question asking him to valuate himself, he mentioned Kim Jae-won first. "I saw an article and the number one actor to be successful after being discharged was Kim Jae-won, then me. My objective is to exceed him". The two are close enough to be laughing about this because apparently Kim Jae-won found it funny.

In the drama he is a strong personality perfectionist top star Dok Go-jin. He then falls in love with a previous idol star Goo Ae-jeong and shows her all his love. Being cool about everything and being unable to stand injustice he expressed righteous indignation in the drama, getting him popularity from women.

Cha Seung-won showed charismatic action in the SBS drama "ATHENA" but the drama wasn't a huge success. However his next drama "The Greatest Love" succeeded greatly and he is now at the peak of his life for the second time.

With the beauty of a goddess but always in the issue with her acting was Kim Tae-hee. She succeeded in winning favors from many in the MBC drama "My Princess" playing the real princess.

DOWN! Jeong Woo-seong

Back in home screens in 15 years with SBS drama "ATHENA", Jeong Woo-seong faced decrease as the drama wasn't so successful.

Jeong Woo-seong met Lee Ji-ah through "ATHENA" and developed into a relationship. After their dating pictures were revealed in February, they admitted to their relationship and he became the cool guy. However, the Lee Ji-ah and Seo Taiji marriage – divorce case made him the most pitiful guy of all. In the end they broke up not long after their relationship announcement.

DOWN! Yoon Eun-hye

Seemingly strong in dramas with "Princess Hours" and "Coffee Prince", Yoon Eun-hye attempted at another drama this time, "Lie to Me" but couldn't shine with the one-digit rating.

Yoon Eun-hye played the role of Gong Ah-jeong with Kang Ji-hwan as Hyeon Ki-joon in "Lie to Me". However, the lie of marriage in the drama which was the main concept behind the drama didn't buy in to the viewers and she was even pointed out that her role and her fashion in the drama didn't go well together.

Hyun Bin's Training Photos Revealed

Hyun Bin in the army have been revealed.

Some pictures of Hyun Bin in training were put up the blog "Fly Marine Boy" on the 31st of March.

In the picture Hyun Bin is carrying a big rubber boat with his fellow Marines, or going through a drill completely armed. Hyeon Bin is as serious as ever.

What especially comes into sight is Hyun Bin's half bald hair. What was longer than that when he entered the army was now much shorter.

Those who have seen these pictures say, 

"I might go crazy, why is he so awesome", 

"Even his half bald hair can't hide his looks!",

 "He's training hard", 

"Survive it and make it home!"

Hyun Bin entered the military training base on March 7th as class of 1137 in Pohang. He will be discharged on the 6th of December 2012.

Hyun Bin Entering the army

Hyun Bin joined the Marines on Monday for his military service in South Korea.

'I have received great attention and love in the year 2010 and now I have been ordered by my country (to serve in the military). I will return the love you have given me in two years and I will spend those two years well,' Hyun said in the farewell message to his fans gathered in front of the Marines Corp training base.

He also said he was grateful to those who spared time to come here to see him and promised to be back.

He will take part in a five-week training in Pohang, North Gyeongsang Province, before being posted to a unit where he will serve for the next 21 months.

Thousands of fans, including overseas fans from Japan and China, gathered in front of the Marines Corp training base in a small town of Pohang on Monday to say goodbye to their idol. About 170 domestic and foreign reporters were at the scene to report the moment Hyun joins the Marines.

Korean news channel YTN also broadcasted live from the scene.

Welcoming placards for Hyun drew media attention days before he appeared. The office of Ocheon town, where the Marine Corps training base is located, put up a placard welcoming the soon-to-be enlisted Marines, indicating the direction where fans of Hyun Bin should go to prevent chaos breaking out on the big day.

Hyun Bin and Song Hye Kyo Officially Broke up

Hyun Bin and Song Hye Kyo who known as one of the highest-profile celebrity couples finally call it quits to their almost two years relationship. Both decide to stay silent on their break-up and focus on their works. 

"The two had naturally drifted apart being busy with their respective shoots for dramas and movies, as well as pursuing activities overseas, and they were also stressed with groundless rumors of them breaking up and excessive interest in them so they only grew further apart without having time to overcome these matters," Hyun Bin's agency AM Entertainment explained in a press release.

"Early this year, they agreed to split up but did not announce this officially because they did not want the public to turn their attention to their breakup instead of their work nor let the personal issue be a hindrance to the last day Hyun Bin would have with his fans upon entering the military," AM went onto state.
