Despite being one of the most highly anticipated dramas, “Heartstrings” disappointed many domestic viewers. While it’s achieving a lot more recognition overseas, the low ratings and negative criticisms are taking its toll on the drama as rumors about possible changes to its production staff surfaced. Recently, there were talks that director Pyo Min Soo may be replaced when he did not appear on set for a couple days.
However, earlier today, a representative of JS Pictures announced, “Rumors about director Pyo Min Soo leaving are false. He wasn't at the studios the past few days because he was busy with the editing and writing teams.” He added, “Only four episodes have aired so far. Director Pyo Min Soo felt it was critical to go over the scripts again to bring change to the drama.”
“Heartstrings” is a youth melodrama centering on young love, friendship, and dreams. It boasts a young, beautiful cast with CNBlue’s Jung Yong Hwa, Park Shin Hye, Song Chang Ui, So Yi Hyun, Kang Min Hyuk, and Woori. “Heartstrings” airs every Wednesdays and Thursdays on MBC at 9:55PM KST.
