It's only the first day of June, the month that "officially" marks the summer season. And already two Korean celebrity romances have surfaced, taking over entertainment sites by storm.
Both sides of popular singer Bae Ji-young and actor Jeong Seok-won have admitted to an ongoing romance. Baek's WS Entertainment stated through press releases, "It's true that the two are involved in a romantic relationship. They were introduced through mutual friends last year in July and have maintained a good industry senior-industry junior (sunbae to hoobae) relationship until early January this year when they decided to take things further".
Jeong's side, Forestar Entertainment confirmed with a similar story, adding that the two are still in the stages of getting to know each other and that they hope the public can look upon this couple favorably. Forestar went on, "Being that the two are celebrities, we hope that hurtful reports based on speculations won't arise in the future".
Currently, Baek is promoting her eighth album featuring the title track "Usual" while Jeong, her nine-year junior, was cast for the new MBC weekend drama.
On a similar note, another couple has surfaced as of late. Nam Sang-mi and Lee Sang-yoon have taken their on-screen romance off-screen after starring in the drama "Life is Beautiful" together.
Nam and Lee announced their romance on the May 31st recording of a cable show, "Taxi". Lee was supposed to be the guest on that episode and Nam made a surprise appearance alongside him.
Nam's reps said, "After the two met through their drama, they've maintained good relations and became something more early this year. Both stars are the honest type and wanted to reveal their relationship openly".
Nam is currently in the process of selecting her next project, while Lee has decided to put his acting career on hold to focus on his studies.
